Holy crap! I had no idea the Euro was that weak against the Dollar. Hello Spain...how U doin'?

I'm not clear why this would be a finable offense, much less one that warrants prison time.

The girl should be banned from taking the test ever again, and that should be the end of it.

You mean the Dollar is weak against the Euro. Unless you were being sarcastic. In that case, I need another cup of this here Spanish coffee.

It's an SAT-equivalent exam, banning the girl from taking the test is a much harsher punishment, given the lifetime difference in average income if you can't attend college.

Not sure why it got bumped up to the equivalent of felony fraud, though.  In the US that'd probably be petty fraud of some kind with an automatic civil judgement only.  Maybe the test is administered by the government, so it involved misrepresenting her identity on government papers?

You don't fark with le bac, that shiat is serious. It can determine the rest of your professional life and is NOT like the SATs here in the US, which is practically a joke at this point.

I would guess it's a very serious government program that is the difference between physicist and dish washer and she defrauded the government. And given that it's Spain, the very large and angry government.

I'm guessing that the 52 year old mom did not dress slutty enough to pass herself off as a teenager.

Note to all women who are not teenagers:  Dressing like a teenager does not make you look younger -- it makes you look sad and desperate.

Also, it can look weird and gross.

That depends.  I've seen some soccer moms that could easily swap clothing with their teen daughters and you'd never know the difference.  Seriously.  I don't know about being 52 years old and getting away with it, but mid 30's early 40's... sure. Some of them are tiny and hot in their little yoga outfits.

It doesn't in this case. There's no one's life she's farking up but her own and her daughter's. If she didn't get caught, the daughter would have been eventually found out to not have the high intellect her fraudulent scores would indicate, or she would have proved herself to be perfectly capable.

And in this case they did get caught. If the penalty for failing the test is so bad, then that is what the daughter's penalty ought to be. She should be automatically failed completely with a no possibility to retake the test penalty.

Monetary damages and prison time for this kind of thing? That's a whole lot of autofellating bullshiat.

The girl has been banned from exams for five years.  This seems to have been the mother's idea, and she should pay for it.

Maybe my lifetime ban suggestion was too harsh. 5 years may be more reasonable.

Mother may have been the brains behind it, but the daughter stood to benefit. The daughter needs to take her medicine. If she wants to challenge it in court, then by all means, bring a suit against the testing company.

Let's discuss what it means to help your kids with their school work.

2013-06-25 07:26:00 AM
This probably happens pretty often. A lot of Parisian moms could get away with it*. And in the French system, it is very important which school you go to. And not just in the beginning of your career. If you can get in (and out) of one of the Grand Ecoles, you are set for life.

* I lived in the seventeenth. I liked to walk my daughter to school and observe les MILFs.

I regularly watch the 24/7 French news channel since they actually cover the news unlike the US.  Saw this last week.  What was funny was when they were interviewing people.  They said they noticed how old she was right away.  They didn't know who she was just that she was old and stood out easily.  The person responsible for the test went up to her and just looked at her and she looked back.  He said they basically said what had to be said without actually saying anything as he escorted her out.

She claimed her daughter didn't know about this which I call bull since she had her ID and wouldn't the daughter know her freaking test was scheduled that day?  Where was she?

If you're 52 and can still pull of low-waist jeans, well done.

AverageAmericanGuy: There's no one's life she's farking up but her own and her daughter's

If she were to get someone else's seat in a top school because of fraudulent test scores, she'd be hurting someone else.

I'm not sure how this test is scored, but American standardized tests are graded on a curve, so if enough people cheated, everyone's score would be devalued a bit.

2013-06-25 07:56:10 AM
but a savvy pervy supervisor recalled a much younger looking woman taking a philosophy exam under the same name a few days earlier.

Hoo boy. I can't wait for le slutty femme to take le English test! Mon deu! It iz not zee slutty. It must be ze slutty milfy mom.  I shall alert authorities

'ello. I am Inspector Clouseau. What crime has been committed here?

Inspector, zee girl is a woman.

And zat iz a crime?

No no no. Inspector. That woman there should be a 17 year old girl.

I see. I shall inspect this wit mine trained eye. She dresses like the, as you say, younga slut. Perhaps, she is a methamphetamine addict, no? That does 'orrible things to a woman's body and or face, no? Wrinkles and teeth fall out. I shall question her. Madame! Can you name a member of the teen rock grouppe, Justin Bieber?

Woman: Uh, Justin Bieber?

She seems to be who she says she is. Let 'er take 'er test. Younga people lika this are the mettle of France's future.

The odds that a person is cut because some other particular person made it in is so infinitesimally small that the argument itself is ridiculous on the face of it.

There are thousands of kids on the edge of adequacy. Most aren't going to make it in, one way or another.

It's more important in Europe, where they haven't gotten their act together enough for people to be able to drive more than three hours in any direction and not run into a language problem.

The Bac is not graded on a curve.
Actually, and this is where it gets stupid, most of the time, selections to schools and univervisities are done well before the final exams of the Baccalauréat, based on your application files, which is built on your previous grades, comments from your teachers, a resume, maybe an essay... It's not like the SAT, which, as I understood, can make the difference in the university you'll be accepted into. The Bac is just the key that allows you to go to the university, you just have to present it to your school to prove you passed it. Which means that you actually need the lowest passing grade on the Bac, to pursue your studies. And also that, you can be accepted to the most prestigious school in France, you'll get to repeat senior year if you flunk the bac.
Of course, you can get a "mention" (distinction) on your bac, which is a nice touch, but once it's time to reapply for a new school, it doesn't matter one bit, only how your fared at the University is taken into account.

So, what does that mean here ? Ever the mother wanted to ensure that her daughter got a distinction, which is the stupidest reason to take such a risk. Or her daughter sucked so much that it was the only way the mother thought she'd pass the Bac... which means that she probably never got accepted into a school with any selection, and was just going to the "fac", where anybody can attend as long as you passed the bac.

on the Bacchalauréat, France's equivalent of the SAT

WTF, the Bacchalaureat is NOT the equivalent of the SATs.  It's not close.  The SATs are the rotten navel lint of the Bacchalaureat's retarded cousin thrice removed.

All French people are allowed one free falcon punch against the next American they meet for this piece of journalistic idiocy.
