Man, if something had happened to them it would have really traumatized the dozens of people who turned out.

So they cheated death?  How many times are they going to be allowed to cheat in one week?

gee...they had to duck a few times.  what a travesty!

On average, i'd say Cleveland minds less than the rest of the country that the Heat won...  Many in Cleveland are happy for LeBron, even if they don't like the Heat.

I'm surprised they all didn't flop on their asses after simulating contact with the overpass.

I'd really be more worried about the bridge getting damaged.

The best part is that the .gif clearly shows the "No Standing" sign right in front of them.  Haha, I'll make a miniscule fraction of the money you make, but I can read, understand, and follow safety instructions!

Poor ESPN, a fatal accident there could have carried them all the way to NFL training camp.

They managed to cheat their way to two undeserved titles, cheating death seems to be an expected bonus.

Now if they managed to do it right, they wouldn't be able to duck.

/Heat titles count when none of their team has anyone considered unwelcome in Ohio.

How do I know you're not even from Ohio, much less the Cleveland area?

All kidding aside, this is a pretty serious problem on may fronts. Yes, the bus had a "no standing" sign, but seeing that the point was for them to stand up and greet the fans, I'm pretty sure that was was OK'd to ignore. It's mostly for when the thing is packed with tourists.

The real issues are the bus driver, the bus company and the parade planners.

The bus company should know what areas are safe in the city for their buses. Even telling people not to stand, some of those clearances were totally unsafe. They should have never allowed their buses to go out on that route.

Ultimately, though, this is the driver's fault. That writing on the side of a bridge is there for a reason. A driver is supposed to be aware of how much space he had available. You're held responsible when you rent a UHaul and damage it for the same reasons, and you don't even have a CDL. These guys are supposed to be pros, and on one of those bridges, there wasn't even the clearance where they could just duck and still see over the rail, they probably cleared that bridge by 6 inches. That driver should have known the height of his vehicle, and he knew he had people standing up on top. He shouldn't have cut it any closer than 5 feet of clearance.

Biatch about the playoffs and the finals all you want, if everybody had been turned around waving or something at the first bridge, there would have been some very traumatic and tragic deaths there. Who really wants to see 3 or 4 people beheaded in the middle of a parade?

Besides people in North Korea?

I live and work in Cleveland, and I can tell you that the reaction is mixed. There's a fair amount of contrarians who are suddenly heat fans the last couple of years (probably the same front-runners who are Steelers fans, Red Wings fans and Yankees fans). There's a few people who don't like LeBron winning (although, since it's the second time, I think that's mostly faded). But the most reaction I see is indifference. At the casino, as time expired on Game 7, there were a few people celebrating, a few people looking a little grumpy, but the vast majority of people just didn't care.

Please, he's such a frontrunner. I remember back when ML was pure and only preached the word of Mario Chalmers. Now he cheers for all the Heat. We'll see if he finds salvation in the next basketball life

I'd back this up from the news and around town. You have a group that hates LeBron which is a mix of hardcore and casual fans. You have some that aren't actively cheering for him, but were still happy when he won. You have the people who are Steelers and normal Lakers fans who will be putting up a banner of this title in the room. Then you have the group that doesn't care because if it isn't your team, you don't really care.

Not sure if that's just a bad spot, but I know there's hardly walking space on the sidewalks in Boston when there's a parade up there.

I know exactly the kind of terror they suffered.

Sometimes when I drive around with my head sticking out the window, I have to duck back in to dodge mailboxes. I've had some close calls like that, too.

None of the relatives of mine that left Cleveland made a point to go all Art Modell on the city.  One would think that with the city's history, that he would have some class - but he didn't.

/Wouldn't mind seeing Kasich ask the legislature to ram through a enforceable declaration that James(as well as protectors of him) is(are) unwelcome in Ohio.

Personally I think he should of went to NY, but whatever. He's a good kid and doing what's best for his career.

He'll own the cavs one day and they will love him for it.
