This is not about stopping Bitcoin. It's just the prelude to the state getting its cut.

If it is being treated by people as a currency and is exchanged for goods and services, then it is a currency and thus a form of money.

I'm not seeing anything out of line here by California, and I just want to punch the people who in one breath go "ITS THE SAFE WAY TO SPEND MONEY", and in a second breath go "LOL WHAT MONEY THIS ISNT REALLY MONEY".

Yes, I'm oversimplfying. In theory, I like Bitcoin, but I have run into like 3 people/businesses that accept it. I'm aware of Silk Road and similar items, but I am not the target market for that at all.

So in theory, I like it, in practice, I can't have a good use for it, and in actuality, a lot of the people going "OMG BITCOIN JOIN THE CULT ITS AWESOME" seem to be douchebags who have no understanding of economics.

There's almost no point to using Bitcoin besides avoiding taxation and dealing in contraband.
