STP with Weiland on smack: pretty damn good.

STP with Weiland clean: WTF is this shiat?

*claps hands* Come on junkie, shoot up for my entertainment! It's your calling.

There's not enough room for her, his smack, and his ego. Amazing what a high opinion a washed-up smack-addicted singer can have of himself. He thought that STP would break up or they would give in and give him what he wanted. Imagine his surprise when they told him (finally) to pound sand. So now he's suing to stop them from playing without him.

Why is it that Layne Staley can be in the grave over a decade and this prick is still around?

Wow.  That was pretty cool.  Much cooler than I expected.  I've always liked this band and have always been really impressed with the writing and musicianship of Robert and Dean DeLeo and Eric Kretz.

Not too crazy about the new guy's voice, though.  This song would have sounded bad ass with Weiland.

Adolf Oliver Nipples: Why is it that Layne Staley can be in the grave over a decade and this prick is still around?

I had the same opinion on Weiland much to the chagrin of my friends who are all huge STP fans.  Well a few of them drove from NY, Chicago and upstate Florida to Fort Lauderdale to see a show a few years ago when he was back with the group - only to have the show cancelled because Weiland went into some crybaby fury.

They came around.

The reporter then asked what David Grohl was doing at the wedding.  Scott replied that he's"THEBESTTHEBESTTHEBESTTHEBEST Man"

meh,   STP was alright for about five minutes when everyone thought Eddie Vedder left PJ, lopped off all his hair and dyed it red.    That being said,  if I didn't know Chester Bennington was singing I probably wouldn't have realized it for awhile.

Scott Weiland is a wannabe rock star junkie.

He uses, gets kicked out of STP, cleans up, writes a book, re-joins STP, uses, get fired, writes a book, ect ect ect.

He wants the rock star junkie rep without having to die.

2013-06-24 12:13:23 AM
I worked 3 STP shows last year: the first show Scott was 45 minutes late while the other 3 members of the band stood side-stage waiting for him. The 2nd night he was only 25 minutes late with the band standing by and the audience waiting almost an hour between the opener and STP.  The 3rd show he finally showed up 90 minutes late. That's 2 hours after the opening act finished. The crowd started out chanting: "STP! STP!" but after an hour or so started chanting: "Bullshiat! Bullshiat!"
The guy is an inconsiderate prick who thinks nothing of farking over his band mates, his crew and the people who paid to come see him sing.
That being said: he performed way better when he was clearly smacked out, but was still a huge disappointment.

Such is the curse of the great lead singer:

The DeLeo's and Kretz are an amazing writing/arranging/producing/performing combo. But without the admitted magnetism of Weiland's stage presence and voice, it all just kind of falls flat. It's exactly the reason why lead singers can (and do!) act like self-righteous prima donnas. Because they can. And without a dynamic frontman, you have 2-4 guys standing there, boring the t*ts off of the audience.

I'll be interested to see where this collaberation with Chester goes.

Last month, "You can't fire me, I made this band."
This month, "Yeah, I'm married!"
Next month wife says, "I don't think those guys can fire you, you made that band!"
Every day for his perceivable life wife says, "Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah!  Blah blah!  BLAH! Blah blah!  Blah blah blah!  Blah Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah!  Blah!"
Eight months from now, "Guys, can I get that job back?"

Weiland is a junkie, and you can't trust junkies--you get what you get, and sometimes what you get is farked over.

But sometimes what you get is 'A Song For Sleeping.'  If you've not heard it and you're a parent, give it a listen.  I first heard it on a deployment in 2001 and it brought me to tears.  Just a perfect piece of music and lyrics about that awesome wash of emotions that sometimes happens when you look at your baby and realize what a gift being a parent can be.  Of course, kids are also like junkies, too, and they will soon snap you out of that reverie with a well-timed tantrum.

Anyway, back to the thread.

just more empty nonsense brought to you by the new opiate of the masses, celebrity "journalism."

Right now under our noses the government has managed to kill a real journalist  who was about to go big with a story that would make them look bad, and faked it to make it look like a car crash. Needless to say this journalist would never have worked for a rag like Rolling Stone.

You people need to get educated and not continue to display how ignorant you are about current events in public.

1/10. Someone that actually gives a damn about "serious journalism" isn't going to waste their time b*tching about it in a thread about a junkie rock star, on a website that contains pictures of Courtney Stodden's bolt-ons. That's like going on Perez Hilton's site to rail about European fiscal policy.

Oh christ- you're one of THOSE people. You've "seen the light" of procreation and now you need to "spread the gospel" as it were to the rest of us childless unfortunates, right.

You probably think it's ok to bring those perfect little snowflakes into nice restaurants, right?

Jeez, lighten up Francis.  It's just a song recommendation.

I bolded that part because your parents hated you and didn't teach you jack shiate about reading comprehension.  Nice leap into that screed, though.  Well done.

FWIW, I'm a grandfather and I have seen the best and worst that kids (and what they grow into) are capable of.  Sorry if recommending the song to parents came off as exclusionary--you can listen to it, too, if you like...and pretend your parents felt that way about you once.

You have a nice day, sunshine.

So far, I'm not all that impressed with it. It sounds, to me, like STP with Chester trying to cover Weiland. They need to find a new sound to fit better with the new front man. Also, with Chester still being in Linkin Park (where he fits in better, imo), its gonna be hard to put in the time with STP that a band of their caliber deserves.

I'm open to see where it goes, but, right now, I'm skeptical.
