Yeah, and I'm sure he would have gotten by with all of that had he not been a cop. The double standard in law enforcement is a failure of justice.

Wow on the scale of cop improprieties, 1 being shooting a coloured and 10 taking the mayor's parking spot, pulling over a fellow officer has to be on the high side.

i would have been tasered and flopping like a fish.

As much as a dick as the guy pulled over was, he still got off as he is also a cop. If someone who wasn't a cop treated a cop like that, they would have tazed, cuffed and stuffed into the back of the patrol car. This guy didn't even get a ticket and flipped off the cop as he was leaving.

The cops' names are right there in TFA. I trust we can count on the internet to serve up the justice for which we can't count on the cops.

Now that it's gone viral both will be suspended with pay until bass season is over.

Here we have video evidence of two bad cops breaking the law.
Neither cops were disciplined or charged?
Why not?

"Police officials contacted by the Advocate said both officers had been "counseled" about the incident. Neither officer was disciplined over the matter."

But they'll be disciplined after this. They'll be suspended for three weeks with pay.

I didn't watch the video, but if the first guy was going 'more than twice' the posted 45 mph limit, that's all they should really need to take his damn badge. That's RIDICULOUS, and probably pretty dangerous wherever that road is.

It's not even about the law. Had he been a normal citizen the other cop would have found some way to fark up his day for talking to him like that. But since he's a fellow thug with a badge he got off scott free. It's about how cops treat non police personnel moreso than how they treat each other.

Dangerous driving and letting a dangerous driver go without so much as a written warning while cops in other places are taking little old ladies whose homes have burned down just now to jail for traffic violations

Well, one of them was apparently doing twice the speed limit and swerving... so speeding and reckless driving for one of them. The other probably wasn't breaking any laws.

yeah you would have been charged with reckless driving, improper passing, resisting arrest and probably had to undergo a dui test.

Doing 90+mph in a 45 mph zone without exigent circumstances.  That's more than three times higher than what Louisiana considers to be a serious traffic violation (speeds 15 mph over posted limits).  Given the profession of the violating driver he should have been expected to adhere to posted limits.  Additionally, failure to issue a citation on the part of the on-duty officer is, given the scale of the violation, a gross abuse of discretion.  Preferential treatment is clearly being shown given the conduct of the motorist (failure to obey when leaving his vehicle and approaching the officer, flipping the officer off, etc).

They must have been trained by Milwaukee police... they are famous for looking out for one another with stunts like that (and worse) at the cost of normal people having to wait 4 hours for cops to show up. Seriously.

It's too bad that redneck bullies who are full of themselves end up being cops and then look out for each other with the "good-ole-boy" network. BOTH officers need to be fired.  If I had pulled that truck over not only would he have gotten a huge ticket but I would have done everything I could to make sure that idiot was fired. Arseholes like that is the reason I have lost all respect for cops.

You seem to be confusing "good old boys" with the "Ole Boys Network". One refers to lower-class rural inhabitants, and the other to high born families of means. The term "good old boy network" is an oxymoron, and makes as much sense as "blue collar executive" or "working class venture capitalist".

I many be wrong, but I was under the impression that most states don't have a statute of limitations for traffic violations.

Listening to the audio, part of the argument from the driver was the on-duty was outside jurisdiction.  I am not sure how that may play in that area since each gang makes up their own rules over their turf.

MI state law allows cops to speed, but only on-duty.  Also, a buddy of mine works for a DPW, and he is allowed to speed to get to work.  However, it's only on days he is needed to plow (which isn't the best time to speed) and he never treats cops like that.  Weirdly enough, it does makes sense for him to get to the plow trucks quickly, he has escorted ambulances before.

You're saying that it's wrong that peers get to treat each other differently than outsiders? Please. Every group has its own rules, and one of the rules for the traditionally blue-collar safety services is the right to tell another guy to fark himself.

During the exchange between the two, Stewart shouted at the other officer that his children drive on Juban Road.

Exactly.

I sure would like to be 'counseled' after going 80+ in a 45 zone, flipping a cop the bird and angrily arguing with him for 5 minutes.

In all actuality, I'd have been handcuffed on the spot for going 80+ in a 45 and then arguing with him.  But then I'm not a cop, so the rules apply to me.

Cops suck, in general.

2013-06-23 09:31:24 PM

JK47: Preferential treatment is clearly being shown given the conduct of the motorist (failure to obey when leaving his vehicle and approaching the officer, flipping the officer off, etc).

I'd be with you but for one thing.  The guy that got pulled over brought up jurisdiction.  IF that is true, and the on-duty was out of his area when he started the pull-over, he may not have legally been able to do anything, the pull-over itself might have been illegal.(showing that the on-duty might have been willing to endanger his own position to attempt to stop a drunk driver)

Not defending him, though I'm sure I'll be written off as a piggy lover, it is fark after all.

Just stating that the devil is in the details and we may have been fed a half of a story, far as I see, there could be information we are not privy too.

Some people here just seem a little prejudice, a little quick on the trigger, jumping the gun as it were.(irony intended)

It's like seeing a black guy ordering fried chicken, and hearing someone predict he's going to wash it down with some grape kool-aid and maybe have some watermelon before pulling out a 40 of OE.

But, somehow it's totally not like that at all!

No, farkers are right, I guess.  That is just like those... attractive and successful uniforms, to act like that.  Everytime I see an  attractive and successful uniform, he's got a doughnut in his hand, or killing someone's dog.  Man, those attractive and successful uniforms are a blight on society, somebody should just kill them, or at least lock them away.  Whatever we have to do to get these  attractive and successful uniformsoff the streets, is worth it.  If I could live life without those people, it would be great.
