Surely that's not the breast thing you could think of to add to this discussion?

For someone who's been here as long as you have, I would have expected you knew better.

Of course I knew better, but I've never actually done it before - I had to get it out of my system.

My offer is $12.5 million. Not a penny more.

This is how the .01% live.

Why pay $17 million when you can get it here for $16.9?

2013-06-23 02:38:04 PM
Nitpick, but that is not a ranch HOUSE, it is a ranch. You know, with stables and barns and crap.

2013-06-23 03:00:47 PM
That's not even the best $17 MM ranch on the agent's listing page.

2013-06-23 03:03:38 PM
Purchased in 2002 for $1.3 million, poured over $12 million into it, and now wants to "downsize" so he's asking $16.9 million.  Helluva hobby.

Fire sale.

Getting rid of it before it burns down.

It's only 144 acres of land. The house is 10,600 square feet.

Yea. I live nearabouts there, and no way in hell is it 10,000 acres. That would go for billions, not a paltry 17 million.

10,600 acres is a bit over 16 square miles.  That is a square four miles on each side.

"There's really no downside on this one."

There's no downside to paying $17 Million for a four bedroom house in the middle of nowhere? I disagree.

I'm betting staffing + upkeep is close to $750k/year depending upon what you keep in those stables.

I was going to mention the tremendous upkeep on a piece of property like that, but yeah.

2013-06-23 08:27:14 PM
I'd buy that for a dollar.

2013-06-23 11:30:59 PM
Ghetto rich, McMansion. I'll buy the house for $10,000 and the property for $300,000.  Doze the place and put up a cabin.

That would make sure you never had to deal with salesmen or trick-or-treaters.

Maybe install a 20,000 foot runway to land space craft.

Is it anywhere near the big ass fire?  Are we sure it's not a pile of ashes?

2013-06-24 06:42:29 AM
Yeah, but you'd have to live in that cesspool of a state. No thanks.

2013-06-24 08:20:21 AM
I have trouble seeing the merits of having a house that large.

This must be the ranch that they named ranch salad dressing after.

Heh.

That comment was so dumb, but made me laugh.
