Sarah Palin's master plan? Is that like a chicken's lips or a fish's nipples?

Also, LOL at Palin complaining about the "political class." It's like Fox complaining about mainstream media.

2013-06-23 01:07:27 PM
She would be able to get more done in Washington as an elected politician, instead of a member of the chattering class.

I think her master plan is telling the willfully ignorant exactly what they want to hear, with exactly the right amount of faux outrage, topped off with a little milf-y wink at the end.

You forgot passing the basket.

It certainly would make laundering money "earned" via PAC donation "with bonus copy of 'The Husky Derped at the Midnight Sun, You Betcha' for every $100" double-payments a hell of a lot easier to get away with.

Yep.  She's living her dream.  She's a cheerleader, going to pep rallies.  I hope she fleeces the rubes into the poor house.

2013-06-23 01:29:44 PM
So she's just repeating RON PAUL's talking points?

Soon to be formed afterwards, the IAS (Internal Asset Service).  Then taxes are based on your net worth.
Oh that would cause some butthurt!

Yes, we can do that. But we are not the audience. The worst we can do to her is to not give her additional ammunition for her to use against the "libby lib libs." But her audience is the one who butters her bread and they are listening because she knows the right way to rub their egos.

Still don't think it's worth the risk, however minute, of her or her "ideas" gaining any kind of mainstream influence or acceptance.

Beware the power of stupid people in groups.

Of course that's her big plan. That's how repub's always "solve" things.

Find a problem? Don't fix it, just wipe out the entire establishment.

It's a simple plan, from a simple mind, meant for other simple minds.

Dear Sarah :

We tried that already. See: Articles of Confederation.

Yep, Our government - the one under the constitution - was built because the other one couldn't ... what?

... what couldn't it do ?

.... RAISE TAXES!

So yes, The Constitution is predicated on the need for the Federal government to RAISE TAXES and SPEND THOSE DOLLARS.

That is, of course, when they don't CREATE the problems as an excuse to get rid of programs that could, if not controlled by the government, make their rich friends richer. See: the USPS.

Even the stupid flat-taxers want to retain deductions for charitable giving and the like.  Without an IRS who is overseeing that?

Advocating abolishing the IRS is just admitting you have all the intellectual and moral heft of a sea cucumber.

so we wouldnt need anymore audits because no one would lie on their tax forms?
no one would hide income?

we also wouldnt need any more reviews of tax exempt status because there would be no more tax exempt organizations??
LOL

2013-06-23 01:55:41 PM
First, we need the IRS because they had the courage to call out the Teabaggers on their B.S. when the FBI wouldn't. If you aren't providing food, shelter or clothing to people in need, you are not a "non-profit".
Second, the IRS and income tax exist because in the 1920's we had some people in the U.S. making over one million dollars a year while some Americans were homeless. People looked in their Bibles at the teachings of Christ, objected to the state of things, and thus income tax was born.
Some teabaggers haven't been locked up in Gitmo yet, and some people are sitting on a million dollars while Americans are homeless: we still need the IRS.

You could have a flat or progressive tax with no loopholes and just by law take it out of people's salaries. So nobody has to even file taxes. Don't really need the current IRS for that, you'd need something about 10% of the size to make sure the employers are doing the math right.

I clicked the link. I hate myself now.

On Saturday, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said that the IRS-and much of the federal bureaucracy-needs to be abolished. Appearing on Fox News' "Cashin In" with Eric Bolling, Palin said that she agreed with Tea Partiers who want to abolish the IRS, suggesting that it would undercut much of the cronyism rampant in Washington.

She said the tax code needs to be simplified with the adoption of a flat tax. "That way we can abolish the bureaucracy that is so burdensome and expensive, and it would allow some sledgehammering of the crony capitalism and the corruption within [government]," Palin said.

When asked about the $70 million in bonuses IRS agents are set to take home, Palin said it was another example of the Obama administration kowtowing to union leadership that engages in "thuggery." She said the "thugs" in the union leadership give union members a bad name.

Regarding those bonuses, Palin said "only in an Orwellian government" is "a collective bad deed so generously rewarded." She also said it was difficult for Americans to trust a government that will not even admit it is bankrupt and continues to perpetuate the problem by spending more money it does not have.

Palin injected "crony capitalism" into the political bloodstream with her denunciation of Washington's permanent political class in a thunderous speech in 2011 in Indianola, Iowa. She has repeatedly criticized how the permanent political class wants to grow government in order to make Washington, D.C. more of a "boomtown."

There's no way to avoid giving ammunition to people who make their own.

If some fringe, idiot liberal blogger doesn't screw it up, they'll just invent one.

And of course you need to cease taxing anything other than employment income. I am sure the Koch's and friends would love that.

Exactly.  Because, as we all know, personal income tax is the only tax the IRS deals with!

Not all income comes from jobs. There are investments, and rental properties, and drug dealing. If nobody keeps track of that stuff, people will just put all their cash into those investments.

Part of their "let's shift entire tax burden on the middle and lower classes by doing only sales taxes, property taxes, and fees for services."  It never occurs to these idiots that this means THEY will be paying more taxes.

My favorite is those people's response when you mention the atrocious poverty levels in this country: "Well, those people should be happy.  There are people in the Congo who can only dream of having it as good as they do."

So, apparently, we're the greatest country in the world because we're slightly better than a third-world shiathole.  But western Europe still isn't as good as us, despite having higher living standards.  Makes sense.
