Well off hand, I can think of 10 dead people who would. The world is full of stupid people and I am thinking this should qualify for a Darwin Award. That being said, I think a better questions to ask is "Why would anyone vacation in Pakistan." Seriously, what is there to do there except perhaps watch terrorists storm your hotel and such.

No they weren't, which someone is going to be really pissed with Pakistan.

Huh. I am surprised that there were no "tourists" from the US there. With a story like that, I just expected it.

My money is on nuclear handoff from the Russians and Chinese to Pakistan but that's just a wild guess.

It's like going on vacation in Detroit or Texas no reason a sane person would do it and you kinda deserve to end up dead over it

I caught part of that on TV a couple weeks ago. It was set in Morocco, though. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0449467/

Pakistani expatriates? Still, they had the sense to get the hell out of there in the first place, why go back?

Ok I give up.

I kinda think the world was better when the US, England, and France put their dictators in place in these counties.

I was in Ladakh last year, and it was a very harmonious, peaceful place. In terms of other peoples intentions I felt safer up there than in any western city (can't say the same for the way nature up there tries to kill you, but I guess that's part of the adventure).

I just (stupidly) bought a Canon D60. Give me airfare and I'm there.

I'm surprised that there were no American tourists there, because every time some nation decides to start killing off members of itself, Americans flock to see the sights.

Suddenly, they're interested in the culture, the people, the history, the food and any historic rubble laying around. Then, they wonder why they got shot, had their taxi blown out from under them or tossed in some prison which is just this side of hell.

And then they yell for the US government to get them out.

D60 or do you mean the 60D?

I wasn't even aware of the existence of the D60, but I have a 60D and consider it a great piece of gear, which, incidentally, I put to good use in the Jammu & Kashmir region last year!

There are worse written spy novels that start out with the same action sequence opening.
They just SAID it was "terrorists".  Maybe it was just one man working against the henchmen of a super villain.  But which one?
I figure it's this super villian, aka the head of Nestle'.
Here's where he wants to privatize water:  http://youtu.be/SEFL8ElXHaU?t=2m9s
After all, that area in Pakistan has to be the source of some mighty nice mountain streams...

Seems as nice and likely place to vacation as say the borderlands of Iraq and Iran or North Korea.

Sometimes a riot just spins out of control and gobbles up people and things that aren't related to what sparked it.

Not everything is a false flag operation you know.

Yeah, but this month has been pretty vindicating for conspiracy nuts. Might as well assume nefariousness from the outset. It's just as likely as not at this point.

We have to blame someone. We're not allowed to blame the terrorists, because that makes them mad and causes more terrorism.

/and the victims are dead, it's not like they can be executed for the crime
//maybe have their reputation smeared and used as another morbid sock puppet for any attention whoring conspiracy theorist willing to shove a hand up a victim's corpse's ass and pretend to be speaking for them
///but that's just how progressive society works

if so then could this be considered a  corporate vs corporate action
ie reduce competition b4 its in place

(odd thoughts - contractor became the euphemism for mercenary - what is tourist normaly cover)
(if they were actual trekkers - they would have been even better targets while trekking -being hit while at the hotel seems a bit off)
(doing the hit at the hotel implies no worries about colateral damage - yep sounds corporat or military)
