So this begs the question: was the shooter out of line?

His hero status is offset by the fact that he's a grown man waiting in like for sneakers.

Did the guy called "Save-sies" before he stepped out of line?  Because if not, under the "Cutter, Cutter, Peanut Butter" Doctrine, he loses his space.

FTFA:  "He was probably after that shoe money," Leslie Garcia said of the man who was shot.

Those are some fine deduction skills on display there Leslie.

He has a gun. And he just killed a guy. You tell him.

pueblonative: BTW, is there some sort of a price range for Stand Your Ground laws?  if this guy had robbed somebody of a $20 pair of KMart shoes would this have been justified?  What about somebody who used a 50 percent of coupon?

In some stores the only part of the coupon you need is the bar code, but in other stores you have to present at least 51% of the coupon to redeem it.

TacoThursdays: I was thinking the same thing. What is the pettiest crime that you are allowed to kill somebody for committing against you in Georgia?

Robber?

Did he shoot LeBron or Nike? ...because $180 for sneakers is robbery.

Mid_mo_mad_man: HeartBurnKid: Bravo Two: skinink: It's threads like this with the linked story that shows you who the racist are on Fark. More that a few of you have some serious issues.

in what way? Because we're OK with a robber getting shot?

Nah, because they see a bunch of black people in line to buy something expensive and their first thought is, "I wonder how many are on Medicaid?"

Stereotypes don't devolp out of thin air. As I said earlier people with 180 dollar shoes, grills with 3 pounds of gold in them and pants around thier knees tend to make bad economic choices.

I'm offended you used the word people when referring to them. Maybe animals, on a good day.

machodonkeywrestler: foo monkey: A human life is worth less than a pair of shoes.

This is not about the pair of shoes in the slightest. It is about a group of people who were subjected to armed robbery and defended themselves.

To provide some fair consideration: some individuals believe that armed robbers are entitled to a guarantee of a safe workplace.

Meh, some people collect hubcaps, some collect sneakers. It is a harmless hobby, harmless except for the guy that was shot of course.

Since when was collecting wallets a crime?

Except people who collect sneakers usually spend 70% of their income on them. Not exactly a wise business decision.

Most collectors don't expect a return on investment. For example, I collect college girls' belly button lint. There's much less of a market for that than you'd expect.

Because no one has ever given a gift before?

A pistol would appear to be a more useful present.

I'm not sure what context you intend for your statement to be taken, but I'll post a picture of an awesome black dude anyway:

If you've ever waited in line for a pair of sneakers, you're an idiot.
