GWSuperfan: Mazzic518: lewismarktwo: Oh, you were trying a variation of the old 'social security number is blocked out with *********' joke...But seriously, why is everything cached to fark now...I think when threads get too big fetching all the images from all the different servers people post from slows the fark servers to a crawl./not in IT anymore//Stayed at a Holiday Express last nightThose slowdowns are client-side rather than server-side. All the HTML is loaded, it's just waiting for all of the different photobucket/imgur/facebook/whatever servers to respond with the images. It has more to do with not wanting images to break when people delete them. (like for Farktography and Photoshop threads). Plus, bandwidth and disk space are cheap nowadays.
Peki: I'm with the long-named people. I think it's 18 letters total (first and last), and my last name is one of those good German names with more consonants than vowels.I've reduced my sig to looping letters so it's kinda like Jack Lew's sig only a little less obviously lazy (the letters I have don't work as well). I add a line at the bottom, which is one of the only ways you can tell I'm a lefty as the line goes from right to left instead of left to right. My mother, on the other hand, has a perfectly legible signature that's done in a font I can only describe as hers. It's beautiful and easy to read, but distinct (ex: she uses the reverse-3 shape for lower e).And finally, I have an uncle who uses an X, because he doesn't like the government (seriously).
ktybear: I was taught to write my full name. Most forgers are male and they can't cash a cheque signed with an obviously female name
MBK: Like, I watch Pawn Stars, and the handwriting guy is like "Well, we see this loop over here isn't exactly the same as his normal signature".
Mazzic518: You think?
Mazzic518: One Bad Apple: Mazzic518: tuffsnake: When you're left handed you learn young to hate writing by handWhy?[img.fark.net image 570x428]I always notice Obama writes like that too... I am left-handed and do not write with my hand all upside down looking like that,
Peki: Mazzic518: You think?I didn't bother to sit there with my fingers and count at that moment in time. I was recalling what I have told others in the past (when I did have the chance to count)./yes, it's 18. 7 in the first, 11 in the last. 6 in the middle.//after marriage, will be 8 in the last.. . but at least it will be easier to spell!
Yes please: ktybear: I was taught to write my full name. Most forgers are male and they can't cash a cheque signed with an obviously female nameI don't think you understand how forging a check works.
lewismarktwo: Mazzic518: lewismarktwo: Mazzic518: marius2: I was going to post my signature to show you how beautiful it is with its squiggly lines, then I realized I probably don't want to have my signature released on the internet. I know how many of you like to right click now. They disabled right click after the sombrero threadIs that why everything is cached to fark.com now? I think I missed that thread. Seems pointless since you can just print screen anything you really want...Fark.com disables the PrtScn button also.[img.fark.net image 850x340]Does it?
Mazzic518: tuffsnake: When you're left handed you learn young to hate writing by handWhy?
jenny next: The spaces designated for signatures are way too small. Sometimes you simply don't have the space to fully write out the final letters.
Crackers Are a Family Food: I scribble because I have a Czechoslovakian last name and don't feel like trying to write it it cursive. In
ktybear: Yes please: ktybear: I was taught to write my full name. Most forgers are male and they can't cash a cheque signed with an obviously female nameI don't think you understand how forging a check works. It's a way of paying people, sometimes in person, without cash. In fact any time someone sees my bank cards, or cheques they read a female name. Sure, people post most stuff and online but way back when it did work and still will for any in person transaction.
GBB: In before[img.fark.net image 660x371]oooOOOOOooooo
Forbidden Doughnut: GBB: In before[img.fark.net image 660x371]oooOOOOOoooooIf that signature winds up on the dollar bill, it's a sign we're headed towards Idiocracy (IMHO)./ hope I don't live long enough to see the "Haulin' Ass, Gettin' Paid" 10,000K bill in circulation...
KingoftheCheese: I use fine cursive no matter what I'm writing because I'm classy as f*ck.
Mazzic518: Peki: Mazzic518: You think?I didn't bother to sit there with my fingers and count at that moment in time. Mr. Fuzzypaws: When I started working at the zoo they told me to print my name next to my signature until everyone learned it./scribbler for life!
Mija: Mazzic518: tuffsnake: When you're left handed you learn young to hate writing by handWhy?I am left handed. I learned to write correctly, not with that bent out of shape way that some lefties write. I almost always write in cursive. It's not a problem when you learn the correct way. I also taught myself to type correctly. People look at me type like they are watching a wizard or something.
CatherineM: Clemkadidlefark: And this is ... newsworthy ... why?You must be a blast at parties..
msbpodcast: I have MS. I couldn't sign the same way twice if I had a gun to my head.
AaronSynn: I have worked at a bank where, if someone came in wanting to cash a check written to them by one of our customers, we would have to compare the signature on the check to the signature they gave when they opened their accounts....Many, many people would sign the original account opening card very nicely and neatly, and then scribble their name whenever they wrote a check....Caused many, many headaches....
