MisterTweak: I've got speed's onlnie feed up for audio, speed's broadcast feed for stats, and the lemans feed for geekery.

Wife and daughter both went out to visit a friend, leaving me with 50 megs of bandwidth and a large supply of mexican coca-cola. I'm pretty much set.

I'm watching the vipbox feed posted above. The announcers are cracking me up.

Ricardo Klement: Leffler, Simonsen... who's third?

Simonsen was the fourth this year, by my count.  Leffler, Mark Robinson, Wolf Silvester, and Allan Simonsen.

Did we get through the Isle of Mann TT with no fatalities this year?

I completely forgot Isle of Man TT.  Yoshinara Matsushiata lost his life in the TT.

/IOMTT is its own special animal though -- what safety?

radio lemans says that the Audi #1 is doing 325 kph in the speed trap versus 319 for the #2.  They theorize that the #2 is running a different aero spec.  Maybe a blown diffuser.

Ya really.  This is arguably the biggest motorsport event in the world, and we cut away for farking NASCAR qualifying.  Unbelievable.  I used to love Speedvision.  It's done nothing but increase its suck factor since 2000.

Well, that leads into an obvious question: who shows the 24 hours of Le Mans next year with Speed turning into Fox's version of ESPN in 2 months? Does Fox keep it? Does it go to NBC Sports?

Sadly true.  Who knows.  I'm planning on being there in person next year, so I'll give them a year to figure it out.

i've had a beer or two already, but i accidentally put the http://www.24h-lemans.com/live/en/ and  http://www.lemans-tv.com/  feeds on at the same time and depending on buffering they go from 1sec to 0.05sec out of phase and it is a bit trippy

Waht happened?

Speed.com was showing a commercial, and they said that one of the Toyotas almost ran out of fuel.  I guess the Toyotas are going faster in the night and using more fuel.  Might have to scale back to 11 laps per run.

Oops, I think I got that wrong.  The number 3 car was the one with the fast trap speed.  Now it's up to 325.8 kph and the other two cars are apparently slower.

Yeah, I had a friend of a friend die that way at Blackcomb. Crashed into someone while snowboarding. Walked it off just fine. 3 hours later he collapsed and died from a brain bleed while in the village.

Surprising the other two Aston Martins didn't abandon the race.  One of the drivers was just saying on radiolemans.com that he was just "out there doing circles thinking about Allan and his family, and if it was up to him they would've stopped"

I love that long talk they had with the guy from Michelin, also funny to see cars running 320 miles on a single set of tires, while F1 teams are screaming what crap Pirelli tires are.

There are four other Astons, there were five at the start of the race, three in GTE-Pro and two in GTE-Am.

They're all Aston Martin Racing cars, though I do think Aston would offer customer cars if someone came along so far just have works cars.

So Porsche is coming with an LMP-1 car next year, so in theory have 3 manufactures for LMP-1, anyone else remember when there were a half dozen Group C manufactures and Porsche was selling so many customer cars you'd see starting fields of a couple dozen Group C cars?

I knew someone who had a bad head ache and went home sick from work.  He died, and they found him the next day when he didn't show back up for work.  There's so many ways to leave.
