I've got erections of my own to worry about.

The group put out a flier with its eyebrow-raising headline: "Celebrating Napa's 30-ton erection."

The headline accomplished the purpose of a headline. It caught the reader's attention.

Hey, without Napa we would have have gotten the greatest mistranslated line of all time since "all your base are belong to us."

Erections are measured in tons now?
Oh.
I need to work on my fractions then for any future CL ads.

And exactly why does a city that's more than 2000 miles from PA, DC or NY need a monument to 'heal'?

Perhaps they can follow it up with a Flight 800 monument, an OKC Bombing monument, and a Boston Marathon monument.

Why the hell is Napa, California, spending money building a 911 memorial in 2013?

And that 30 tons of steel was once a small part of two really big erections.

The only animal I know that has two penises (normally) is the snake. When the terrorists struck at the Twin Towers, they were symbolically castrating the Dragon, the Great Satan, Babylon on the Hudson, and what not.

However, a GIS tells me that Komodo Dragons, as well as most lizards and snakes, have hemipenises, double sex organs. And so do Koalas, oddly enough. More proof that Koalas are evil incarnate.

Eviiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiil, I tells yah! Evil!

Usually when a politician erects something it is either a Giant White Elephant or some piece of religious flim-flamery like the 10 commandments.

Like we couldn't come up with "thou shalt not kill" or "keep your grubby fingers off of my stuff" and "don't touch my wife, children, maidservants manservants, asses, oxen, etc."

Sorry, basic morality has nothing to do with your God or gods. It's built-in to human minds and even to some extent the minds of dogs, wolves, apes and dolphins and other social animals.

Koalas are cute and cuddly.

9/11 memorials are to the USA what the 'Plaza of the Resistance' is to France:  ubiquitous and meaningless.

I wonder how much money the city wasted on this and who is stupid enough to contribute money to this.

They've been soliciting money here for a couple years to build a 9/11 First Responders memorial. Never mind that we're nowhere near where any of that shiat took place, and we sure as heck didn't lose any first responders. 4th of July, Veterans Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day they're showing off a couple hunks of steel from the WTC and asking for donations.

Perhaps I'm in the wrong business. I should go buy some scrap metal in NY and start hawking memorials.

How long are we going to milk this 9/11 thing anyway? Is there a particular reason a second memorial is being built 3,000 miles away from NYC, or is this just another attempt to part some rich fools from their money?

More like rich people attempting to part dumb working stiffs from what little money they have left.

We need a monument to monuments in Monument Valley, Utah.

This erection is rising on the patio of a chop house?

Reminds me of the old joke, a Frenchman out for an early morning stroll at the beach spots something in the surf.  Going out discovers it's the body of a young naked lady.  After pulling the body to shore he goes out to cop the authorities. When he comes back he finds to his horror another Frenchman having sex with the corpse.  Mercy! he shouts. Sir what are you doing that woman is dead! The man jumps up in horror and says sacrebleu I thought she was an American!

911 is the dead girl.
