I'd watch that on a rainy Saturday afternoon if it was on USA or TNT. But mostly only because J.K. Simmons is in it.

Trolling or not, subby, that's right on. akplus is probably the most versatile actor of his generation. Comedy, romance, action, thrillers, good guys, bad guys, Kutcher is pretty farking awesome. And did you know he's very involved in fighting sexual slavery? He's not only a great actor, he's also a great humanitarian and a pretty amazing person. In this way, he's kind of like the Paul Newman of this age of the cinema.

Steve Jobs was a visionary. I'm not surprised someone like akplus was chosen for the role. It really suits him well.

I don't admire him because he makes a lot of money. I think he is a great actor and appreciate his work both on and off screen.
With assholes like Mel Gibson out there, it's nice to have a solid, decent human being to look to in Hollywood.

Meh, Steve Jobs wouldn't have amounted to much more than a car salesman if it wasn't for Wozniak.

And Woz would have gone to work for IBM or HP and been a forgotten engineer if it wasn't for Jobs.

Engineers are a dime a dozen. Maybe a bit more expensive back when Woz and Jobs got together, but still ultimately replaceable.

You can't replace vision.

Steve Jobs was lucky that Altoe Based Xerox Copy machines decided they didnt want to go with GUI based computers that THEY invented and he then took their idea and made Apple.  I wonder if they are going to show that in the movie

For the guy saying "AKplus" is the most versatile actor of his generation, Woody Allen once fired him because he told him he just could not do subtle comedy. Period. He replaced him with Jesse Eisenberg. So, yeah, you're pretty much full of it.

2013-06-22 10:46:19 AM
Cameron Crowe fired him "because this was just not meant to be" and replaced him with that master thespian Orlando Bloom. http://www.digitalspy.com/movies/news/a352379/cameron-crowe-reveals-r e ason-for-firing-ashton-kutcher.html How versatile!

This post enraged me on every level.  From the stupid nickname to the grandiose and false claims of accomplishment and the final comparison to an icon of Hollywood and humanity - it hit almost every note.

8/10.

I can't act to save my life, or my balls. So I cannot judge anyone as a bad actor. This intrigues me because of the subject matter and I'm sure Kutcher does a decent portrayal.

The movie Crowe "fired" him from got a 28% on Rottentomatoes:  "The film's problems lie with the lack of spark between a wired Dunst and a bland Bloom."

He takes out a dynamic actor and substitutes a "bland Bloom" so his opinion on casting is not that credible.

I've never watched a movie (animations might be an exception) with Ashton Kutcher that I've enjoyed and i doubt that  the movie Jobs will change that fact.  Noah Wiley played Jobs very well and it is shame they couldn't get him to reprise the role.

I honestly don't understand the appeal of AK in hollywood.  I was a fan of 2 1/2 men with Sheen not that it was great but Sheen and Cryer played of each other well, AK is unbearable on the show.

He might be a good and nice guy but if he can't act how cares.

the preview looks horrible

Also can't forget about that thing back in 1997 when Bill's philanthropy saved Apple from implosion.  Apple owes quite a bit to the truly greatest tech CEO of all times.

I hadn't paid much attention to Kutcher until he took over in Two and a Half Men. He's very good in that, so until this movie comes out I'll keep an open mind rather than joining the "Haven't seen it yet but I hate it already" lynch mob that hangs around here.

This. That movie was actually pretty good. This new film seems like its going to be a jerk-off fest for Jobs fans, as opposed to actually telling the story.

What I find remarkable is that trolling is the only thing this thread has going for it.

People really don't give a rat's ass about Steve Jobs.  I know a lot of people who like Apple products, but as far as I can tell, the "fascination" with Steve Jobs is almost entirely a media creation.

Not true, senior managers and MBA types spooge over him. They lap up everything written about him as some sort of way to inject awesomeness into their companies. A week after that goddamn biography was published every CEO in the country thought they were some sort of product visionary.

Yo, subby, I'm really happy for you. Imma let you finish. But Kanye is one of the best Steve Jobs of all time.:

"I think what Kanye West is going to mean is something similar to what Steve Jobs means. I am undoubtedly, you know, Steve of Internet, downtown, fashion, culture. Period. By a long jump. I honestly feel that because Steve has passed, you know, it's like when Biggie passed and Jay-Z was allowed to become Jay-Z."

Uh yeah, about that. The $150 million was a settlement of a lawsuit. Apple still had billions in the bank, so that money didn't save them. The important part was that Apple got MS to agree to continue to update Office for the Mac and Internet Explorer for the Mac for a few more years. That helped keep them going until they could get some new computers out, and replace the antiquated OS9 with OSX.

Indeed he was, he knew that if he could put together a cult like following they would buy anything he offered even if it was an idea copied from someone else....just like actual religions like Christianity.

Wasn't he a douchebag to his family, kids etc?

Maybe selfish prick is the phrase I'm looking for.

Yeah, I know.  The media cares a lot more about senior managers and MBA types than, you know, the other 99% of Americans.
