The comments led me to read the article. Yep. Subby is an idiot. Or a troll. Or both. Or maybe from South Dakota.

RTFA

"North Dakota state law prohibits a person under 21 from being in a place where alcoholic beverages are being sold in licensed premises (North Dakota Century Code Section 5-01-08). An exception is a restaurant if the restaurant is separated from the room in which alcoholic beverages are opened or mixed and gross sales of food are at least equal to gross sales of alcoholic beverages consumed in the dining area (North Dakota Century Code Section 5-02-06)"

I fail to see how this prohibits service of alcohol and pretzels... it "prohibits a person under 21 from being in a place where..." etc.

Subby is either confused or trolling.

Back in my TV days, I hated doing the "stupid laws still on the books" stories. They may be on the books for historical purposes, but nearly always have been made moot by newer laws. But as a general manager warned me, "don't let the facts get in the way of a good story."

I went to Louisiana about 12 years ago and me and my friends encountered this stupidity at a restaurant: me-I'll have a slice of pizza and a beer.  friend-I will also have a slice of pizza and a beer.  waitress-I'm sorry I cannot serve you pizza and beer but if you buy a pizza and I put it in the middle of the table and you grab a slice from it I can do that.  everyone at table- Scanners style heads explosion.  I love laws in the Bible belt.

I'd imagine the people in Crookston, Mahnomen and Ada go to Fargo / Moorehead when they want quality grocery store sushi.  That equals "Cities" in my book.

Also, GIS for Fargo skyline:

Using generic city skylines leads to some funny results.  Like the Edmonton "Skyline" being used on the cover of a number of US roadmaps.

Non Sequitur:  "A statement that does not follow logically from what preceded it."

Your comment:  "ND legislators will soon fix this by placing further restrictions on abortion."

"This", I assume, refers to the article, which was written on the subject of "Beer and Pretzel Laws".

Therefore, using substitution, I can re-phrase your sentence as "ND legislators will soon fix Beer and Pretzel Laws by placing further restrictions on abortion."  I do believe this could be used as a textbook example of Non Sequitur.

No, because whatever they do or don't do on abortion is entirely irrelevant to this discussion of this non-issue.
