Pants full of macaroni!!: I actually have that thing (record club freebie). It's kind of a hoot the first couple times.

And he got a few of the original artists to contribute, I think Dio is doing background vocals...

Recently, Heino decided to do his own version of that and created some artificial controversy in Germany.
img.fark.net
Yes, Heino, the German "folk" singer, who could probably do 30 bad album covers all by himself. Including my favorite:
img.fark.net

If Germans ever argue that they're really not that weird, just uttering the word "Heino" quickly puts them in their place.

In an unrelated note, I always like Asia's covers, don't see what's wrong with that example. I was a bit disappointed when I found out that the actual music wasn't that spaced out, but pretty generic stadium rock.

Fleetwood Mac had a cover for the last album before they switched from blues to pop (the one with "Station Man")...Christine McVie drew it...a hideous, syrupy drawing of a boy and a girl in a "magic garden" like you might have seen in an old 1940's kid book you would never read.

That album cover was, to me, a harbinger of what was coming.

Knew Wasp was going to be on there.  Most of those make that ICE-T power album look positively normal.

Snotnose: Came here to say that.  Radio Kaos is to me an underappreciated slab of brilliance, but Pros and Cons of Hitchiking holds it's own.

KAOS doesn't really interest me musically, but as an extremely geeky musician (hobbyist), the way it's engineered is amazing. Definitely a go-to album for auditioning speakers.

Pros and Cons I got as a copied cassette when I was a kid, from a German exchange student, which shortly thereafter turned me into a huge Pink Floyd fan. Still am, though I don't listen to them so much these days given the vast options thanks to the internets. Still, when I do, it tends to be a three-day binge.

Pants full of macaroni!!: Yes, he openly admitted it was a joke (after whatever Christian TV network he works for threatened to take his show away).  "Heavy metal" in Pat's world means "lots of brass".  I actually have that thing (record club freebie).  It's kind of a hoot the first couple times.

I actually like the arrangement for "Panama." Strip out Pat's vocals (and maybe the backup singers), and it's a decent salsa track. Great horn and rhythm lines.

Alphax: Ryker's Peninsula: I'd suggest Poison's "Look What the Cat Dragged In".  First time I saw that cover, I thought those were some of the ugliest women I'd ever seen.

Wasn't just you.

Thirded. And I'd actually heard some of Poison's music before, so you can imagine my youthful confusion.

Cover looks fine to me.

Farking THIS.  Much like the Cars Van Halen went big and should have gone home afterwards.

How dare they desecrate the late, great Barry White by even suggesting that album cover is bad.

CSB: As a teenager in north Texas, I used to frequent a local guitar shop in which the owner proudly displayed an autographed promo photo of Pantera from their cock rock days. I found this hilarious because I never liked Pantera.

Somebody thinks it's still cool (not hip) to hate anything having to do with Boy George ...

Jeremy Jordan and the covers for Ice-T and the Cranberries, OTOH: I agree.

The Miracle?

those album covers belong nowhere near this list!

Alphax: Could be worse.. I saw a Cannibal Corpse album cover that really gave me a strong urge to hurl.  Might not be old enough, but I saw it in about 2002, so it probably is.

I am really into CC, but man, I really am not a fan of their album covers. And they started back in the late 80's, so chances are that the cover you saw was from the 90's.

She was 15, so that makes it okay.

Scorpions put a nude 10 year old girl on one of their covers

I actually own a copy and it might qualify as a guilty pleasure. It's the most listenable ELP album, anyway.

Bob_Laublaw: Pros and Cons of Hitchiking is on the list? What a load of shiat.

From the comments:   the pro is that she's naked. The con is that she's better hung than you are.
