I don't think I'll ever be able to see the big deal with him and his SO.  They both seem talented, but not in the top ranks of their field, IMO.  Above all, they seem incredibly dull.

Years ago a friend of mine went into a KC bar in the afternoon and the place was empty except for this extremely drunk long-haired weirdo at the end of the bar talking to himself and generally acting out of his mind. After a bit, my friend realized it was Brad Pitt and asked the bartender. "Yep, that's him. Been here drunk for three days."

No rich person will ever think or admit that they're rich. Except maybe rappers.

She made out with her brother on national television.  That's pretty much the definition of freak.

In the case of rappers it's not an "admission" so much as it is a demand for acknowledgment.

The billionaire has filed a libel suit claiming the magazine's annual ranking of the world's wealthiest people underestimated his fortune.

This was an exception, but you're mostly correct.

Well Mideast oil barons have the same insecurities that rappers have. Take a look at Dubai. Overcompensating much? But all the millionaires I know (of which I am not close to being one) all think they're poor and over worked even though they're rich as hell and don't do shiat. I on the other hand am comfortable and believe I am compensated very well for what I do.

I heard the biggest complaint is that it isn't faithful to the source material. Luckily I never read the book so I don't care about that. But the trailer made it look a little CGI heavy for a zombie movie. Are they even zombies?

Just saw it.  It is very loosely based on the book.  Very loosely.  It's PG13 so there is practically no gore but it looks like that was accomplished with some clever frame blocking in several scenes so maybe there will be a director's cut or something later.  The story seems like it is set during the same period that the book deals with but it is not based on the same character.  The zombies are not Romero-esque, they are more "28 Days Later" berserkers and they don't eat people, they just bite them to spread the disease.  It was entertaining but it does not do justice to the book at all.
I would really like to see Max Brooks make his own version of the story.

They are zombies, yes. The ones in the movie have pretty much nothing whatsoever to do with the ones in the book. They were slow in the book. Also, the book is more of a collection of perspectives and the movie is Brad Pitt Races Against Time To Save The World.

The CONCEPT of the film version is great. The execution, frankly, sucks.

I felt the same way about the book...I'm not sure if we're going to spring for the movie or not, considering we could go see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs live for about the same price.

Farty McPooPants: it looks like that was accomplished with some clever frame blocking in several scenes

Oh I hate when they do that. It's like with Die Hard 4, you know the one that was a '24' episode? They said, "well it's a PG-13 but the unrated DVD is all unrated and shiat". But you can tell when a movie is shot with a PG-13 rating in mind. A few eff words and some CG blood doesn't change that.

I'm no gore hound or anything, it just seems like it would be hard to pull off a PG-13 zombie movie. But then, Hannibal is a show on NBC, a milktoast broadcast channel and it's gorier than most of the R rated horror movies I've seen in a long time. So the whole system is just nonsensical. At least we know there won't be any boobs in it, thank Christ.

In fact I was dragged to Warm Bodies. I would call that a zombie movie about as much as Twilight is a vampire movie.

I think their being kinda dull is the appeal. They seem more like regular folks.

Once saw a biography on Brad. In his early film days he tried to ugly himself up so he didn't get typecast as the pretty boy.

Good or bad, Mr. MutantMotherMouse have a hot date set for the Sunday matinee. Would've gone today, but stupid work got in the way.

Has anyone watched it in 3D? Don't think I'd enjoy it much and definitely wouldn't enjoy the increased price.

Just like Johnny Depp and Matt McConaughey, he wants to be more rock star than true musicians.  He wants to be ready in case another call comes out from the Third World so he can feel more at home.

I should just go all old lady and whine: "If Frank Sinatra or Cary Grant were around today, would they do that?  Would they even wear jeans??"

I do know Clark Gable was pretty darn smelly, even if he didn't do it deliberately.

Your words aren't strong enough to describe the level of crap that pile reaches. If I was alone I would have got up an left in the middle of the movie. By that point I was rooting for the zombies to completely wipe out the Earth or at least eat his annoying family.

They do a shiatton of good around the world, including right here in the US with NOLA. And whenever I happen to see pictures of them on TV or whatever, they're both dragging their platoon of children with them, not relegating that to some nannies or servants. And Jolie was in Gia. Gia.

Just got back from watching the movie. WWZ was pretty damn enjoyable, I have no idea what people are biatching about. Some insanely intense sequences...actually the whole movie is pretty tense.

I happen to find that to be awesome. Beats the hookers/blow/domestic abuse celebrity cycle that seems to be the norm for other known celebs.

I just saw WWZ.
It was probably the most boring zombie movie I've ever seen. There are levels in the game Plants vs Zombies that are more exciting than the entire movie.
And nothing from the book made it into the script.

I just got back from seeing WWZ and here's the dope- if you like Vin Deisel movies with lots of chases, action sequences and special effects you will love it. If you enjoyed the book and expect more of the same you will be very disappointed. There is one scant bit of dialogue from the book and a few of the events are very, very loosely based on the series of events in the book, but too many major details have been changed to even justify calling it WWZ. Even without the baggage of the book it's so full of plot holes and clumsy devices that it was just silly.

I think the Van Deisal community might take offense at your comments....
