What the fark was he supposed to do?  Tie her to a chair and force her to watch the awesome and lesbian-friendly film D.E.B.S. until she agreed to kill herself?

Weiner says, "You really shouldn't talk that way about people" and tells her "it's not your fault" when she apologizes.

Seems like he handled it pretty reasonably.

That's what I thought. What the hell did they want him to do? Take her over his knee and spank her? Spank her for being a naughty, bad girl..?

We shouldn't be defined by who we hate.  Wiener did fine.  It was a hard decision to make, and a lesser person would have had made an egregious boner.

Maybe Bound or Mulholland Drive? Hell, let's make it a marathon.

What an outrage

Wait what am I outraged at again?

Oh yeah, that Christine Quinn still has a chance to win

I like this new vein of umbrage, where you can be upset with someone for not acting like a dick.

Republicans have to be. They got nothing else.

Is the outrage over the fact that his response contains the words, "It's ok"?  That phrase can be used as an acceptance to an apology?

When someone clocks me with their backpack on the subway and says, "Sorry." I usually say, "That's ok."... which means, I know it wasn't something they did with intent, so I accept their apology.

Same thing here... racists, sexists, and homophobes... especially older or uneducated ones tend to throw out words that shouldn't be used in public.  He let her know he didn't like that kind of language and she apologized to him.  What should he have done?  Denounced her on the spot and threaten to sic a pack of feral lesbians on her?

In this context "it's ok, it's not your fault" probably translates as "please stop talking before you embarrass yourself any further, and take up time that could be used by more intelligent questions".

"Weiner Comes Under Attack..."

Well, yeah, if you attack it properly.

he only said it after he saw the reporter's reaction.  He didn't say anything to her until he realized that if he didn't the reporter would say something.

If what she said was not her fault, who's fault was it?  How the fark is that being reasonable?

Sometimes it's hard to get Weiner to stand up for a lesbian.

Meh.  No different from every Fark thread that decries a sentence as "too light."

Politics:  the systematic organization of hatreds.

He should have smacked that biatch up alongside her head.  That would have quieted the FemiNazis.
