While it's soooooo easy to hate him... he can't help be an upgrade to what they are trotting out there right now.

Isn't he suspended or something?

One can only assume that DL = down low.

ha ha, A Rod is gay, Soo funny.  One can also assume you are original and have a superior sense of humor.

I recall at the beginning of the season everyone was praising the Yankees lineup for doing so well with half of their starters on the DL.  What happened to that confidence?

Ummm... the replacements started acting like, well, replacements. But that doesn't mean that they also weren't previously playing far above-and-beyond what anyone expected, either. In fact, I'm guessing most Yankee fans are more surprised about the first two months of the season than the last few weeks. There was never any real expectation (except by those who are insane, anyway) that the Yankees could compete at that level all year without their regular players coming back.

Not really healthy, but ARod will be back on the roster in time for his suspension, so he can get it out of the way without losing any actual playing time.

Suspensions take place whether or not someone is on the DL already. Freddy Galvis, for example, went on the 60-day DL with a broken back last year, just in time to get suspended for 50 games. The entire suspension was in effect while he couldn't physically play baseball to begin with.

A-ROD always comes first in this partnership

Now here's the troubling question - A-Rod is now strongly disliked by Yankee fans (at least the ones who care about the players having, you know, a role model-type personality), but what happens if he comes back and plays well?  The team is struggling pretty badly, and if he helped spark the offense should fans show appreciation?

He'll still be hated but might... might get some grudging respect if he plays well.  It wouldn't take much to be better than the 4th guy on the depth chart situation that they are in now.

The guy basically carried the team through the '09 playoffs and even THAT didn't win the fans over. Carrying a pack of pretenders into a meaningful September isn't going to get the job done either.

Yankee fans would turn against their own mothers if she was having a bad day. For all the stereotypical nonsense about New Yorkers being no-nonsense, tough as nails people, at the end of the day they are nothing more than whiny, insecure pussies with a Napoleon complex.

This photo is pretty gayish though... Seems this time A-Rod is the giver and Jeter the receiver.

Yeah, up yours, buddy.

In other baseball news that I'm sure will be met with much rejoicing from Tigers fans, Valverde has been DFA'd.
