Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum. The bassist in our church band would rock.

Also, Amazing Grace, but sung to either the Mickey Mouse theme or the tune of the Gilligan's Island theme.

BillMurraysGhost, tnx for reminding me on pg 3 that Mungo Jerry (or was that Mungojeri? recall it both ways) did San Francisco Bay Blues.  We still sing that in Sweet Adelines, of course not same arrangement.
Already forgot who 'twas early on pg 1, suggested  We'll Meet Again by Dame Vera Lynn.  Arranger in my SwAd chorus arranged that yrs ago, also did Love Letters that we've done in regional contest.
The Irish Blessing is a traditional for barbershop harmony singers of both genders who shuffle off the mortal coil.  Short & sweet, chords ring if well sung (not if poorly sung).

Got this while still in 1st chorus before 2007 merge, for Singing Very Very Well.

Don't plan to have a funeral. Oh, I plan to die...but I can't forsee a big ceremony. Wife knows to cremate me, find someone I hated in this world who's still alive, and scatter my ashes all over them before they can run away.

However, these tunes would be at the playlist I'd want my friends to play as they hoisted a beerglass or two in my memory:

"Estonia" by Marillion
"Who Wants to Live Forever" by Queen
"Burn in Hell" by Twisted Sister
"Heaven" by Talking Heads
"Jesus is Just All Right" by the Doobie Brothers
"God" by Tori Amos
Something by Chopin - there was a Prelude he wrote that I love but can't remember offhand what # it was.
Clair De Lune by Debussy, followed immediately by
With Prayers from the Moon by Akino Arai, to close out the set, and I would ask the entire room be completely silent until it is completed.
The encore would be "Epilogue (Nothin' Bout Me)" by Sting

When my father, a Bob Seger fan, passed on, we had the funeral home play "Against the Wind" in tribute. Out of respect for the old man, and because I'm a sick fark, I'd have them play "You'll Accompany Me" while my wife's in earshot. :)

But I'll be dead and either playing a harp, screaming in freakish agony, becoming one with the celestial cosmos, jamming with Hendrix, or just doing I probably won't care either way.

Start with "Spirit In The Sky" - Norman Greenbaum.  When everyone finishes laughing, "Highway To Hell" - AC/DC at which point everyone should start nodding and saying "Ain't that the truth?"

My last wish is for all my surviving friends and family to have a big BBQ party.  Lotsa good food.  Lotsa booze.  My only request being that they play a songlist I pick out.  All J-Pop, the more girly and squeaky the better.  I figure by the end, there should be a drunken mob of rednecks all headed to my grave to piss on it one last time.  My kinda company.

Haven't heard any of his "new" music.  Didn't really catch on to Seven's Travels or If Life Gives You Lemons.  Just not a big fan of the "sound", so I can't really even give the songs an honest opinion.

Grew up in the Twin Cities, so I've been a big fan of Atmos for about 15 years, well at least up until God Loves Ugly...

Yea it went a little favorite youtube clip ever is him and Eyedea (RIP) on freestyling on the Sway/Tech morning show for like 8 minutes"> atch?v=40MA0pl7Oa0

There will be a playlist for when they have my wake:

-"Seasons of Love", from Rent
-The Indiana Jones theme (the full, eight minute version)
-"Photograph" by Nickelback (if only to piss people off)
-"Greenback Boogie" by Ima Robot
-"Some Nights" by Fun. (Especially for the bit about "wish that this all would end")
-"I Don't Feel Like Dancing" by Scissor Sisters
-"Song of the South" by Alabama
-"Welcome to Paradise" by Green Day

Of course, my wake would be at a bar, and everyone would be required to wear a rainbow flag pin and asked to make a donation to the Human Rights Campaign. I'd have an open bar, and all my friends would be given the opportunity to tell every horrifyingly funny story (good or bad, bad being preferred) about me.

I want a marching band to play Chopin's Funeral Sonata in B-flat minor, as well as the other great funeral marches.  I doubt I can get the gun carrage pulled by jack tars like Churchill got in 1965 (as they are hard to come by in the American midwest), but I would settle for my remains to be placed upon a manure spreader pulled by a classic Farmall or John Deere tractor.  People had better cry at my funeral too.
