No more criticism of LeBron from this guy anymore.

You unsufferable Heat fans however...

Also, Tim Duncan + Emotion = Does Not Compute

Was hoping for another Criami Weep, but all I got was Sad Madtonio Spurneds.

Really? So clever. Agh, I knew as soon as Ray hit that three at the end of regulation in game 6 that it would end like this. Back to pulling for the Bruins to save this summer for my three favorite teams: the Bruins, the Celtics, and whoever is playing the Heat. Let's see if we can salvage a split.

Insufferable, rather.

He's still short about four or five rings I think

If Miami is going to win, might as well have it do it in the fashion which brings the Jordan fanboys to tears.

Take heart Heat haters. This is probably the last time you get to see them win.

He'll probably be reliving all of Ginobili's boneheaded mistakes instead

So the season ended exactly how everyone knew it was going to end then. Why did we go through this season again?

Can someone mash up some of those Ginobili passes to Miami players with that scene from Pulp Fiction where the guy misses several times at point blank range?

Good job, Spurs!  Way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!

Because you and the country have bought into a NFL propaganda and marketing machine that says true greatness occurs when every team is 8-8.  Congratulations.  You watch sports to be surprised by the outcome.  I watch sports to be entertained by the highest level of play possible.

I feel lucky. I don't follow the NBA much and I don't actually know any Heat fans. I can just watch the playoffs and enjoy the real-time highlight reel that is Lebron James.  That was a hard-fought game and very enjoyable to watch.

Maybe if I knew some of these awful fans, I'd feel differently.  Now to bathe in the tears of my way-too-serious-Celtics-fan friends.

That was amazing. I feel like a better person for having been able to watch basketball be played at that level. It's usually a cliche, but I legitimately hate the fact that one of those teams had to lose.

That said, the thought of Birdman's ring potentially blending in with his tats is pretty great.

Dammit, why did you have to go and find a silver lining in all this?

This series was awesome.

2013-06-21 12:14:45 AM
James stepped it up in the last two games. Honestly, since the last two games of the Boston series, he has submitted a downright amazing year plus. It was definitely lulz watching him choke in the clutch against the Mavs, but it's also fun to see someone just play that great when it matters. Now, can Wade get 4?

I agree. I truly think if they played 100 games, it would be 50/50.

I'm a Knicks/Mets fan too, but the Heat are honestly so good that a while ago I just started appreciating it. This matchup really brought out the best in both teams

Amazing game, amazing series, hell of a fun year.  Congrats to the Heat and their fans.

Not really, because when the history books are written, they're going to say that LeBron did it against better competition, under a ruleset where it's harder for individuals to dominate, and his more complete playstyle reflected that.

You didn't already hate the heat from Mourning's playing days?

I'll be interested to see how the media treats Duncan's emotional display (smacking the floor).  You can be damned sure that if it were LeBron, they'd run with that story for years.

I'm not old enough to know who you're talking about.

Some of the best basketball I've seen played in a decade. Was an awesome series, and as a Magic fan, while I'm less than pleased that the other Florida team now has 3 championships, I'mm downright freaking ecstatic that Tracy McGrady doesn't get a ring.

Harder for individuals to dominate? I get advancements in weightlifting and nutrition, plus zone defense, but individuals that get hand checked and clotheslined have to work for it

LeBron is other worldly.

Imagine if HE came into the league with Shaq in his prime instead of Kobe... I wonder if egotism would've driven the Lakers apart, or if they'd have wanted to continue to win title after title.

Wade is already drunk and admits it.
