By the time someone heard her screaming, she had been compacted with the trash a number of times.

Wow, you can survive that??

If you behave like a bum, people will treat you like a bum.

Happens several times a year..  The compactors don't squeeze very hard.  They're not trying to make a solid mass, just get some of the air out.  You want the trash to separate when it's dumped out.

It must just kind of tamp it down unless you hit the "couch disposal" knob.

I'm not joking about couch disposal: Youtube

Warning: the video is not narrated by rocket scientists.

A local dumbass did that here two summers ago(?) and got a nasty infection from it (staph? hep?) and was in the hospital for a long time.

Sadly, he survived.

Only 39?  If she weren't so young, I'd half expect it to be one of my ex-girlfriends.

You are now aware that homeless cats and kittens often take refuge in dumpsters, and likely suffer the same fate. Your local trash truck probably hauls away dozens of small mewling kittens everyday.

/So do rats, possums, raccoons and such. So it balances out

The cats themselves are pests, so who cares?  You realize that we have to pay people specifically to trap and kill stray cats, yeah?  If they do something stupid and die it's just saving the animal control guys some effort and time.

Of course, it being Globe, the dumpster may have been the best hotel in the area.

Listen, this is America! You don't tell me how to live my life, and I won't tell you how to live your life. You got that, commie?

Blecch! I had to retrieve something that was accidentally thrown into a dumpster the other day, fishing that out alone from the edge of the hatch was gross enough, I can't imagine voluntarily climbing into one and remaining there...

/about 50 miles from Globe
//about the same balmy 105° too...

Well it depends on what they regularly put in the dumpster.  I was in a kitchen dumpster once.  It was like the trash compactor scene from Star Wars.  My roommate once jumped into a dumpster during a rain storm.  Unfortunately, someone had just emptied a diaper genie into it.

That said, the large garbage totes they have now are great for keeping the rain off while you party.

Ho, man, I wish. Dumpster-brand trash bins are top-of-the-line. This is just a Trash-Co waste disposal unit.

The whole US60 corridor from East Mesa/Apache Junction to Miami is one big meth lab.  Copper Mining towns aren't doing so well with no mining going on.  My kids were amazed at how old the places looked when we drove thru on the way to Lyman Lake last year.  Almost frozen in time from the late 70s, early 80s.

Live in San Tan Valley, work with a few people from Superior and Globe.  Good people that got out.
