Issues with both computer & trying to post here.  Just tried to put one up, said whatever equiv of Accepted is, but it went Off Yonder into the ozone.
Ginger's typing too, putting in long strings of numbers (Normal Catlike Typing. PawSense is NOT sounding off).
Mutts this AM:  Mooch's Dear Diary.  No doubt about it -- water drunk from the faucet just tastes better.
Unsure When or If salsa of last Caturday will ever be possible.  Know I missed at least 10 pgs in the midst, not willing/able to find/make/take time anytime soon.  But that too is why there are The Farkives --
I weary, may be trying to overdo to get caught up. Could use  some zzzzz time, as Plumbicon did when we got home from Oxford midday & had lunch.
Speaking of which, as I didn't last Caturday: the wedding&reception last Sun at Lodge left this great big pan of mac&chs, I maya said.  Took all Mon AM to divvy it up. Didn't count, but methinx there could be at least 20 containers & ziplock sandwich bags full.  All now friz.  Pan left in warmer overnight.

Hello everybodeee!

 ^-^
='.'=

Raven's buddy 'John' from the group home went out and got a mewbie of his own.
Ructions and ranting...he went the 'forgiveness rather than permission' route. Anyway, little Casper (so named because she appears, flits and then vanishes) is a dilute tortie...silvery-grey with a bit of pink frosting on her face. Very sweet...but a couple weeks too young to leave mom...her eyes are just starting to turn color.

I got the house a rather nice cat tree...it's hard to 're-direct' behavior if there's nothing to re-direct it towards. I'm also campaigning very hard for not de-clawing...offered to make the 'Soft Paws' route one of MY tasks.

John and Casper seem to have bonded well...but he's a bit disappointed that Casper and Raven weren't instant BFFs. I keep trying to reassure him that they will sort things out...just it's going to take a little time. The omens are favorable...nothing worse than hissing on first meeting, and there's been at least one 'conversation'/staring contest sans any rude noises.

~*~*~*~*

I'm taking Riktor to the vet tomorrow. He's gotten awfully thin. He turned 11 this month, so he's into 'possible bad kidney territory'. I hope not...I've tried to feed them so as not to screw up their kidneys.
Wish us luck...I love that little cat so much...

Sugarbear Update:
Okay, I got my boy home last Monday. He had his operation Friday and spent the weekend recuperating at Mountain Vista Animal Hospital. He had to have his leg amputated because it was cancerous. The tumor was just in too deep and that was the only possible treatment. But I wasn't aware of how much leg the vets were going to amputate. I was planning on asking some model builders I knew with access to a 3D printer if they could build Sugarbear a prosthetic leg. But after I got to Mountain Vista and they brought Sugarbear out to me I knew that wouldn't be possible. There wasn't anything left to attach a prosthesis to:
Maybe NSFW http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg235/Themightyhaggis/DSCF0614-Sma l l.jpg
I have to be honest and say that I'm still kind of in shock.
We brought him home that same Monday. For the first couple of nights he stayed in his kitty bed, obviously in a little pain and feeling more than a little grumpy: Again Maybe NSFW  http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg235/Themightyhaggis/DSCF0619-Sma l l.jpg
The other cat, Zooty (named after a Babylon 5 character) took awhile to get used to Sugarbear's appearance. A couple of times it got nasty, but that's all smoothed out now I hope. Last night there was a breakthrough of sorts in that Sugarbear wanted up into my bed. To make it easier on him, I got rid of the metal frame and sat the boxframe square on the floor. I then took a milk crate I was using to hold small parts and a plank to build an incline at the foot of the bed so he would have an easier time getting in and out of bed.
Sugarbear insisted though in jumping up into bed with only the one back leg, although Zooty seems to like the incline as his new fort.
Sugarbear has another appointment tomorrow. He looks like he's going to make it.
I would like to take this moment to thank a particular mystery Farker for making Sugarbear's operation possible by donating a fairly substantial amount to his veterinary tab. Without that one wonderful person, I probably would've had to put my furry baby to sleep.
Currently I owe Mountain Vista $408. After tomorrow, the bill should be about $425 (MVAH is giving me a discount). I'm afraid that I am still in need of help.
Mountain Vista Animal Hospital is still taking donations for Sugarbear. The account number is #17261. They don't have PayPal, but they are taking donations over the phone.  All donations will go directly to Mountain Vista and none to me.
Mountain Vista Animal Hospital is located at 4675 East Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, NV 89121. The telephone number is 702-458-8808 and the Fax is 702-458-8796. Mountain Vista Animal Hospital's website is www.mvahvetlv.com (I'm still job hunting, but the only serious offer I've gotten is asbestos removal at $3.00 an hour).
Well, that's it for this week. I want to thank everybody for helping, especially that one wonderful person. If it weren't for you guys, well, I'm seeing a side of the human race I've never seen before and it's beautiful. Thank you all.

OK, so all four of the Oreo-Ninja Clowder got their Revolution application...
then Wimsey Whyte-Cat goes and 'helps' my neighbor fix a particularly greasy car.

If I give him a bath will he need another application?

You can say that again. I almost lost my left leg earlier this year due to an infection and every time I take my socks off, I expect my toes to fall off. But Sugarbear, geez what a cat!

Glad Sugarbear is doing so well. I know just how you feel. My boy Boots nearly died a month ago from having a blocked bladder. If it weren't for one of my daughter's friends and my MiL I would have had to put him down as well. I still owe my daughter's friend 400 dollars, to be paid back in full July 11 when I get my first full pay from my new job that i'm starting tomorrow.

You should be able to give them a bath as soon as 2 hours after you apply it, as the active ingredient of Revolution gets absorbed into the bloodstream via the skin.  Once the goo is completely dried, its job is done.  The medicine then stays inside the cat's system for a month or whatever it is.

Silly Wimsey.  Doesn't he know what coveralls are for?

Have fun at bafftime.  :)

What she said!  Perhaps he just switched to low-fat gophers and it's as simple as that.  Worrying about one's furkids can really stress one out though.  Hugs to you.

Good Meowning!I have had my morning lovins from Eli. He is now outside enjoying his natural litterbox. I have found that he will come back about an hour later for noms, and a snooze. By that time the mailman has come and gone. :)

Coelacanthso happy to see you kitteh is doing so well. As soon as the icision heals he will be jumping and running...cats are good that way! And Btw..the vets did a great job. Very clean surgical site. They do good work there! I wonder if they would let you work some of your debt off? Clean cages, walk pooches etc? Worth a thought.
