There's nothing odd about a flamingo being pink.  Your post is bad and you should feel bad.

It's odd because Flamingos are not pink naturally. The pigmentation comes from the food they eat.

As I recall, flamingoes are technically white.  The pink colouration comes from their diet of shellfish, and
varies over the year and by individual.

Panthera...  Pink...  Pink Pantera?  That actually explains a lot.  Didn't know they were gay.  I mean, their music sure is, but...

\*runs away*

Also, on a serious note, what about Pink Dolphins?  I think they might be called Amazon River Dolphins, or maybe just River Dolphins.  Are they extinct yet?  Last I heard (like a decade ago) they were not doing well.

But I've always considered this guy:

to be based on the "mountain lion", (also known as a "panther", even though it's in Felis, not Panthera) based on the white cheek pads, long tail, and home range.

Wikipedia lists 'panther' as one of its many names, along with 'puma' and 'catamount' (wtf?).

Puma concolor holds the Guinness record for the animal with the highest number of names, presumably due to its wide distribution across North and South America. It has over 40 names in English alone.[17]

Does a leopard qualify as a panther?

The genus Panthera includes all of the large cats.

And yes, in Africa and Asia, leopards are known as panthers; mountain lions are known as panthers in North America; jaguars are known as panthers in South America.  Black panther = black leopard.

Varies by diet of algae and small crustaceans; carotenoids in food color plumage.  They're filter feeders; their bills contain balleen-like sieves.  Depending on local diet, color ranges from pink to orange to scarlet.  They're born with gray-white feathers.
