(Newser)   Amid all the tributes to the late James Gandolfini, a New Jersey ice cream parlor came up with one of the most fitting. The owner of Holsten's in Bloomfield put up a "reserved" sign at the booth where the final scene of The Sopranos was shot   (newser.com) divider line 23

That would have elevated the tribute to epic, but the "Reserved" is a nice touch.

Ha! Nice to see my hometown getting some love. And Holsten's is an amazing place. Homemade chocolate and ice cream consistently rated one of the best in the state, though admittedly their food is just average diner stuff mostly. Plus the owners of it are awesome - very charitable, especially with youth sports.

You should go there if you're ever in the area, just for the ice cream. Ignore the Rita's that opened across the street in a pathetic attempt to push them out.

You'd think someone would have posted a picture of that in the other James Gandolfini headlines.

That would be neat, if there weren't a several-years-old plaque mounted on the wall saying the exact same thing. It can't be "tribute" and "shtick" at the same time.

It could be. Although a shticky tribute sounds like a 4chan thing.

Schticky Tribute is a great name for a cover band.

Why is it reserved? Do they think he's comming back? Shouldnt it just say "JG sat here at the end of The Soprannos".

Appears to be trending now, but I've just got back from seeing Springsteen play at the Ricoh, in Coventry England. After about an hour of playing requests he took from the crowd, he said how they had played the entirety of Darkness in London last week, and how they like to do something different so tonight they were going to play Born To Run for their great friend James Gandolfini. Got a huge response and then they did just that...from beginning to end. (And then did another hour plus afterwards).
