And from what I hear on the radio he's being followed by helicopters and he's driving a white SUV.

So that, plus he has the whole strip club incident still hanging over his head. Did the Patriots and Jets swap bodies this offseason?

All part of Tebow's elaborate plan to take over the team in the name of God.

He still has the "Raw Lewis" out by trying to turn state-witness against the other 2 guys who were with him. Unless they found the gun used to kill the victim in his home, then he's pretty much never going to see the light of day again

Sounds like he wants to expedite his transition from TE to WR

At least they Patriots don't have to worry about the media following around a white Bronco. They've got a white ex-Bronco to distract them.

It's a conspiracy. First God strikes down Gronk for his hedonism ... then he frames Hernandez for not being sufficiently white Bostonian.

I'm glad this guy decided to pick up where Ray Lewis left off.

2013-06-20 02:39:03 PM
At first I thought that maybe this was an accidental shooting that resulted from a bunch of drunks playing with a gun, but now that I hear the guy was killed execution style, I going to have to say he had the guy murdered.

2013-06-20 02:40:31 PM
Early part of the article seems like a bizarre effort by FOX 25 to make this story about themselves.  Is it at all relevant that he drove past their office?  And what's with quoting their own guy as a source?

2013-06-20 02:42:58 PM
Best Case (for him): his friends are thugs who did bad things he didn't know about
Worst Case: he pulled the trigger

likely case: the dead guy went to buy a lot of drugs, banked by Hernandez, and the man was killed and Hernandez's money was stolen.  In order to get him to cooperate, Hernandez will be held on drug charges and illegal gun charges (from the incident in FL).  He'll be in and out of court for the next 2 years with those problems and plea out and become a witness in a murder trial for a longer time than that.  He'll be suspended by the NFL for a Plaxico Burress like long time.

2013-06-20 02:44:11 PM
I'm starting to think the gunshot wound to the head is what killed the victim. Can't really rule out dysentery or perhaps a fatal reaction caused by a severe allergy to sand, however.

Seriously though...if the crime scene and descriptions of what we know of that night thus far are accurate, then this stretches into Rae Carruth-ish, totally planned and premeditated territory than Ray Lewis; the latter if I remember was more a possibly drunken, heated late-night scuffle that just escalated quickly.

You think Hernandez was running or at least part of some drug ring? Or actually using?

He drove by the Fox 25 studio
He was carrying what appeared to be a sports drink.

More likely he still associates with his POS friends from the old days, and they convinced him to use his big money to finance their drug trade.

He's looking at an obstruction of justice charge minimum, which would easily net him a couple of years in prison. He'll likely plead out of it to turn on his buddies, assuming of course that they can't link him directly to the murder (ie: not his gun)

Gang ties.  Gang ties.  Hernandez may not have been a gang member himself, but his high school friends in CT were ALL Hartford/New Britain/Bristol- area gangbangers.  And they never ever are far away when when local boy makes good, and always make sure their meal ticket has willing or unwilling involvement in their activities.  This sounding more and more like willing involvement.

/ Really...playing for a team within 2 hrs. driving distance of home makes it pretty much inevitable that there are dudes going in and out of that North Attleboro McMansion of his every night of the week.

Wow.  Just wow...this is all striking so close to home for me.  I had Hernandez on my fantasy football team last year, so I'm a little shaken up right now.  I felt as though I knew him like a brother.

Oh, duh, good call.

Because he went to Florida, I keep forgetting he's from New England. I have no insight into how "deep" he really rolled with "gangbangers" but I've heard enough rumblings about it before.

I don't know how deep either, but as I said in the other thread I'm originally from Bristol just like Hernandez (albeit a decade older than him).  The townies know full well who was surrounding him when he was a local star.  Hugely Catholic area with the Latin Kings being the dominant gang.  Hence, Catholic guilt-ridden parents would enroll their little hoodlums at Catholic schools as a wholly inept and Catholic-passive gesture towards keeping them out of trouble.  St. Paul High therefore had a bigger gang problem than any of Bristol's public schools...which were not exactly bastions of model behavior themselves.  Attend one of StP's games when Hernandez was the area's biggest sports star, and you only had to look at his cheering section in the bleachers--every single face known by reputation--to see that there 'gon be problems when he gets rich and those same guys are still hanging on like leeches in his crew.

Don't get me started...I was actually playing for the last pay-out position (no thanks to him...I did have Roddy White, Ray Rice, RGIII, and a few other good producers), only to sit Roddy White against Detroit.  I mean, he had only two catches the week before, and still looked questionable.  Of course, he blew up for 10/153/2 in that game and I lost the match.

You joke, but if there's any silly conspiracy to believe, it would be that the Patriots knew Hernandez shot a guy in February, even though it wasn't reported.  Yet somehow the Pats know about it and sign Tebow June 10th.

Even if accidental, remember, Burress shot himself with an illegal weapon and was suspended four games, albeit by his own team.  I couldn't quickly find if there was an NFL suspension, though the rumor was that he'd lose at least half a season.  Hernandez (allegedly) shot another person.  Pretending this whole murder thing is all a funny prank, if the shooting case has any merit, Hernandez is still gone for a long , long, long time.

Connecticut has it's very nice areas.  But if you go to even some nice places - take Trinity or Yale for instance.  Excellent colleges, excellent campuses.  Step outside the wrought iron fencing into Hartford or New Haven and you get that feeling that you're not in the right place.  Spend a little more time in those areas and you'll know you're in the wrong place.

I see what you're doing, but that's probably because everyone in New England watched breathlessly as he drove to Gillette Stadium then stopped for gas at a Gulf station earlier today.  Finding him isn't going to much of an issue.  But good try.

I'm crackery , too.  Because it sounds like you're a Western Mass guy, you'll appreciate my little CSB - Every now and then friends and I used to go to either downtown Springfield or Springfield College, we'd always fight over who's driving and how we're getting there.  We were a mixed group - one of our black friends used to say, "I'll get us there faster than anyone.  But I gotta drive.  And the white guys gotta duck down in the back."
Needless to say, the 91 corridor to New Haven and then 95 through to NYC has some pretty shaky stops along the way.

The Latin Kings are relatively benign on the spectrum of gang violence.  CT doesn't have anything close to Bloods-and-Crips level because the organizations themselves aren't as regimented.  But they are very widespread, if somewhat loosely-bound.  Especially on the swath along I-84 from Hartford to New Britain to Bristol to Waterbury.  And by benign, I only mean little in the way of outright total warfare with rival gangs.  Individual killings are still a near-daily occurrence.  You do not want to piss them off.

Hernandez didn't have to be one of them to get swept up in it.  It's their own form of collateral to make sure somebody with value (like Hernandez's $$$ and fame) is complicit in some incident, either by witnessing it or having to clean up after it.  Although...yikes, he might be a few steps further into it based on these reports.

/ Been on the school bus pulling out of my Middle School in downtown Bristol and seen classmates of mine with Latin Kings affiliation firing guns into the air across the street as a crowd of kids looked on.  Some dumbass meathead picked a routine after-school fight with a gang member after shoving the wiry little twerp into a locker, and he brought the glock to show meathead what this wiry little twerp was made of.

You nailed it in one.  Though, to be honest, Springfield hasn't really intimidated me too bad.  I did work there for years though.  Course I've not gone rolling through the back streets.
And I'm not sure I'd ever want to break down in that 91 to 95 area.  That's some prime urban decay.
