ransack.: GanjSmokr: ransack.: thurstonxhowell: ransack.: I feel bad for this guy. This will ruin his career and his life. If I got a DUI, it would cost me some money and I'd lose my license for 30 days maybe and have to go to six AA meetings or something. This guy will lose his career, his pension, and his moonlighting gig. Everyone deserves one second chance.

If I was in uniform, at work, driving a company car, I think hitting someone and getting a DUI might leave a bit of black mark on my resume.

He was off-duty at the time

------------------------------------

Meyer was wearing his uniform and driving his sheriff office vehicle to an off-duty job at Walt Disney World when the crash happened.

As long as you're "off-duty" it's fine to be drunk, in uniform, and driving your squad car then?

It's not okay, but it isn't any worse than an everyday drunk mail carrier.

So a drunk driver who is supposed to enforce laws against DUI is no worse than a drunk driver who delivers the mail.

base935: Poor guy. His job as a freedom protector is more stressful than any of you civilians, and you'll never understand.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic, but being a cop is probably one of the most stressful jobs out there, and it doesn't even pay all that well.

Troopers arrested Meyer about two hours after the crash when he refused to take a field sobriety test.

So they gave him two hours to sober up, he refuses the breath test (buys him another hour or so), and he still blew a .13. It's nice that his buddies tried to help him out...
