Ikea bags suck, they're not deep enough.

So now the only daylabor immigrants that will be hired from the Home Depot lot are the ones with gifts of Home Depot shopping bags?

There's a reason I want to twunt-punt every effete look-at-me-I'm-too-cool-to-care hipster I come across.  This is that reason.

All the cool kids have this:

This spring I counted six of 'em at the bottom of the Lachine Canal. All within throwing distance of the little pedestrian bridge.

I wonder if I can sell mine on e-bay. Eye roll, the bag is ugly.

Home Depot for cheap materials, Harbor Freight or Northern Tool for cheap tools, Rockler for good materials & overpriced (but cool) tools.

Pretty much. It might be the worst hardware store I've ever been to if you need to do any duct work.

If the Home Depot shirt is really a thing like the article claims, rush down to your local Salvation Army or Goodwill store. They'll have a few.

when i go to a hardware store i generally can barely fit everything in a cart, i don't know who uses bags.

wearing a prison orange useless home depot bag as an accessory is just as lame as wearing scarves in summer. man, that annoys me. is your neck cold in this humid 86 degree weather?

farking fashion. You know, people used to shoot for looking good. Looking put together at least. Men wore jackets, slacks, and hats. What the hell happened that people switched to reusable shopping bags? Where was that flip?

Actually it's The Home Depot... not Home Depot.  Did a show that they sponsored and boy or boy did they get pissy if you called them just Home Depot.

Seeing as I've made several trips there this week, and am positively festooned with their crappy, easily torn bags I'm getting a kick out of this thread/article.

I've had a HD bag like that for over a year.   I sometimes have to park some distance from my front door and that can be a bee-otch when I've done food shopping.   The HD bag will hold a 24-pack of bottled water, topped off with a bunch of other items.   It saves me making multiple trips back-and-forth to my car.   $2.99 well spent!

I have Ikea bags, too, but they're pretty much for hauling laundry.  They hold way more than a laundry basket can hold, and the handles are really easy to grab.  I think they're under $1 each.

No, that's not me.

True. "Ikea" says "good with tools" much better than "Home Depot."

Every proudly independent woman will want one.

I had a Ryobi drill I bought there in an emergency situation, ended up lasting several years of day in day out use.  Go figure.

I've got big green and black bags from Half Price Books that hold up to being filled with books. They'll handle groceries just as well.

They just won't attract a rescue pigeon.

Boy I love the hipster scum and their open derision of people that can't afford to do jack shiat for a living.
"It's ironic because I'm actually better than these people. Look how silly I look in their items! How gauche!"

Ha, yeah. You can build like 80% of a house from there. For as big as the place is, and as much crap as they have, i always seem to need that "one more piece" that they dont seem to carry, and have to go to a contractors distributor to get.

Part of human nature is to want what we can't have

No, not really. Unless you're talking about an X-Wing, a Chik-fil-A sandwich on a Sunday or Mila Kunis,

I'd X-Wing Mila Kunis in a Chick-fil-a on Sunday... or any other day of the week.

Publix makes good, sturdy bags. When I have a quick job at a neighbors' house, everything I'll usually need fits.

2013-06-20 01:11:42 AM
I have one of these giant bags hanging on my basement door, full of crappy needed-it-once tools (from our local habitat for humanity store). It's too big for shopping and too small for the few things I get at home depot. However, it fits great on the back of the door and the dumb latch snaps shut so the bag doesn't fly apart.

I'd sell it in a heartbeat for a few ikea bags.

The same twats that drop by home depo once a week to pick up colored duct tape and hot glue for home decor/crafts.

Home depo is so far from a decent hardware store it's actually kinda sad.  ACE is rather my current favorite, because if they don't have it, they go get it for me, or I just order it from harbor freight.

But does the Chinese Home Depot have their own shopping bag?

Whoa, watch what you say about Harbor Freight around these parts, someone might cut you with a dull Harbor Freight knife set.

Viral marketing. Pay to get some random people to take pictures of themselves with the bag, then pay for an article like this one "Are Home Depot bags the new it thing?!?!"

Heh, I own one of those.

Pretty definitive prove that it's not cool.

I was looking for the cap that goes on the outdoor water faucet anti-syphon thingy. It just screws off, you'd think they'd stock that part.

I have one - got it years ago?  At least 2 yrs ago.  I usually have bigger, bulkier items, but it seems to fill a need b/c invariably I have some smaller items.

/I'm a bit of a tree-hugger though
