What Republican Outreach to Female Voters May Look Like

2013-06-19 05:48:37 PM
Gingrey is currently vying for the Republican U.S. Senate nomination to replace retiring Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.).
A Landmark/Rosetta Stone poll released Wednesday showed Gingrey with the lead, pulling 17 percent, good for a narrow advantage over Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.) at 15 percent, former Komen foundation executive Karen Handel at 14 percent and Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.) at 7 percent.

Gee, what a surprise so see her resurface as a Republican political candidate...

If they all used the Alberto Gonzalez method, it wouldn't harm them as badly as this.

Reporter: What's your opinion on Syria?
GOPper:  I don't remember.
Reporter: What's your opinion on DOMA?
GOPper:  I don't remember.
Reporter: What's your opinion on Benghazi?
GOPper:  I don't remember.
Reporter: What's your opinion on the IRS thing?
GOPper:  I don't remember.
Reporter: What did you have for lunch?

I'd bet that the fundy homeschooling publisher Abeka already has a title called "Barefoot, Pregnant, and in the Kitchen" that would serve this purpose quite well.

What state is this loser from?

2013-06-19 06:17:50 PM
Not too many years ago when the GOP figured out that they could claim a modest majority by using social wedge issues, they accepted the tactic as divine inspiration.  Since then it has become an article of faith that they'll relinquish about the same time they let go of Jesus.

Basically, they'll never learn.

He forgot the sudo. As in "sudo get me a sandwich". I hear they always comply then.

And these gender role classes would bolster "traditional marriage"...how? Or is he implying this would curb people from transforming into homosexuals?

2013-06-19 06:59:36 PM
"This is what a father does that is maybe a little different, maybe a little bit better than the talents that a mom has in a certain area. And the same thing for the young girls, that, you know, this is what a mom does, and this is what is important from the standpoint of that union which we call marriage."

See? You take the quotes out of context, and maybe he's just talking about how sometimes moms make omelets different than dads do. My mom whisks the things into oblivion, but my dad cracks a couple eggs over the heat into the pan and just mushes them all together into one big slab. Truth be told, I prefer my dad's way of doing things. It's just more satisfying.

So anyway, I'm hungry and I don't feel like scrolling all the way back up there to see what I'm talking about.

Thank you for your time.

kid_icarus: And these gender role classes would bolster "traditional marriage"...how? Or is he implying this would curb people from transforming into homosexuals?

No, he's actually getting right to the heart of the issue - it's not that gays might marry, but that women might realize that a marriage doesn't have to be between a master and his domestic servant/broodmare, and that realization would destroy traditional marriage.

2013-06-19 07:10:04 PM

Theaetetus: that realization would destroy traditional marriage.

Other things that destroyed marriage:
Abandoning the bride-price: daughters are an expensive prospect. Without the promise of a healthy bride-price from the future groom, parents will not raise a proper daughter because there's no benefit to them in doing so. We can already see how this has caused society to decay.

Monogamy: how can a man demonstrate his wealth and power in our modern society? Our forefathers understood this better- by having a fine stable of women and many, many children.

And he's not a racist either because one of his friends is black.

They're the ones stupid enough to continually agitate for policies that are directly harmful to them and everyone else. They don't so much ruin the GOP as enable its continued existence as a political party.

That was, after all, the whole point of her tenure at Komen. It's not like she did anything even remotely useful there - she's actually banking on the recognition garnered by her farkup at Komen to pull votes as a Republican. Given her attempt to paint herself as the victim in recent articles about politicians threatening her, going GOP is practically a no-brainer.

"And when they come home and take over that responsibility, they need a shared partner, and that partner is that partner for life. And I'm talking about, of course, the father," he continued.

*head asplode*

And why, exactly, can this not apply to gay couples?

Not really "fixed" so much as "de-euphemised." That's the problem - terrified geezers thinking that marriage is meant to be an arrangement in which the male is dominant and the female is subservient, and that no other arrangement is possible because their imaginary sky-king said so. Combine that with the need to push class warfare through financial means, and the idea of same-sex marriage is as much a confusion of power struggle as it is a confusion of sexuality for them - they're not sure who to talk to when it comes to determining what to sell to whom.

Isn't the ideal Conservative Christian "traditional" marriage between a man, his housekeeper/mother of his children and various meth-addicted male prostitutes?
