(USA Today)   George Harrison has that deadly serve but don't sleep on Bob Dylan's net game and backhand. I would favor George on England's grass, but on clay Dylan has to be the favorite   (ftw.usatoday.com) divider line 28

Not surprising. Everybody's got somebody to lean on.

Dylan: We better get off the court soon. A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall.
Harrison: No, wait, Here Comes the Sun!

Thinking the same thing.  Tennis in jeans?  No idea where they were, but if I tried that down here I'd die.  If I took a 30 minute walk in jeans down here, you'd find me passed out on the sidewalk.

"so, I uh, just picked up 'The White Album' on CD.  The clarity on these things is amazing!  I just wonder, what if Charles Manson heard these?  'Wow.....this is amazing!  It sounds incredible!  Maybe the Beatles weren't really talking to me!  I musta just had a blown speaker or something. Did I really think they were sending me message?  Man, I feel like such an asshole.'"

I'd say the whole "being alive" thing gives Bob a slight edge.

People are getting too wrapped up in their clothes. I think context is everything. They were killing time before a show. It was at the Isle of Wight after all. It isn't like they went there to play tennis and dressed funny.

They had time to kill and found some rackets is how I read it. There is a lot of waiting around on tour. Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood make sure a billiard table is back stage.

I think they used to have a mirror the size of a billiard table backstage.

Isle of Wight was a multi-day festival, the artists were put up at rented houses, and there was a hell of a lot of waiting around  So stuff like this happened.  Wight's a Channel island, so it's wet and cold even in the middle of summer.

Oh, and the Rolling Stones don't demand a billiard table; they travel with a snooker table (about 10' by 15') and have for decades.

You know, I knew it wasn't a billiard table, but I didn't feel like looking it up. I figured someone would correct me.

One of the best Norm MacDonald Weekend Update jokes was something like:

Bob Dylan admitted this week George Harrison taught him how to smoke pot
And in return, Dylan taught George Harrison how to look 'haggard'

I love snooker. Our crappy dorm actually had a decent snooker table. Play that for a while and regular pool becomes simple.
