Why is this a Fail, subby?

Fans lining up for the championship early beats fans leaving too soon because of lost hope, right?*

*have no idea, really
around 10:43pm last night I suddenly heard screaming and pounding on floors in my apartment complex, so I turned on the game

/Go Spurs

Even as someone that would be happy if the Heat won, the in-stadium fans leaving early are the far bigger fail.  Why?  Because they spent thousands of dollars to be there, and couldn't make it for the last few minutes, even though it was close.  They have too much money and not nearly enough sense to know how lucky they are to even be there to see such a game in person.  And because they have their stupid heads up their rich asses, they needlessly cheated themselves out of a classic, buzzer-beating comeback and an entire OT period of play.  DUMB F*CKS.

This isn't nearly as embarrassing as the Heat fans leaving, but I still wonder who celebrates a championship by waiting in line to buy a t-shirt you can easily pick up the next day/week/month.  Or online.

Basically, America is the study group in Community.

Heat fans are Season 1 Chang: They're doing their thing, they have a good gig, they're above what they deserve, and they don't give a f*ck about anyone else.

Spurs fans are Season 2 Chang: They're needy b*tches, constantly going on and on about "WHY DON'T YOU LOVE MEEEEEEE?!?!"

Both characters are equally annoying (and sometimes fun to laugh at).

Nah, you gotta have it now. That way you can wear it to work tomorrow and show all the guys on the loading dock that you were a Spurs fan before it was cool.

Lakers are season 4 Chang because they deny remembering anything from last year?

Replay is stupid.  That killed the Spurs chances of catching Miami with their pants down.

I'm sorry, but the Heat fans leaving early is far, far worse. Every single one of them who left should be banned from even watching game 7 on TV or listening to it on the radio.

Fans leaving early demonstrates a lack of faith/fandom in a team.

Fans lining up to buy gear before a championship has been sealed demonstrates excessive faith/fandom in a team.

So by "one is degrees worse than the other", what you meant was "these occurrences indicate completely opposite things, right subby?

MugzyBrown: Replay is stupid.  That killed the Spurs chances of catching Miami with their pants down.

Again, what are you going to do? Review it after the game?

Refs in the last game f*cked up two three-point calls (trying to give an extra point to SA and take away a point from Miami). Did you want them to wait until the end of regulation to check, then potentially end the series with the refs literally saying "Spurs win" over the intercom rather than anything actually being decided on the court? Because that's what would've happened if it were a 2 - Miami wouldn't have fouled intentionally like they'd have to if they'd KNOWN it was a 2, and the game would literally be declared over by refs reviewing and seeing that a shot with 5+ seconds left was actually a 2.

One fanbase was confident and wanted brand new team merchandise, the other was despondent and couldn't bear to be seen in their own stadium anymore. I know who I'd rather be with.

Fans whose teams have a lead in the final few seconds more confident than fans whose team is trailing by five with less than a minute to go? I'M SHOCKED

Found a fun quote from the playoffs about Wade; guess when the article is from:

Appearing to be hurt down the stretch, Wade missed two long jumpers and committed a turnover in the final 75 seconds.

"You've got to really commend him on his effort," hesaid of Wade. "He came out; he was really, really banged up. He was his normal self. He didn't have his explosiveness, but he found a way to get it done. He was in a lot of pain. The toughness and the character of Dwyane Wade is unquestionable."/answer: 2005

Sure, bailing on a game in the Finals is pretty poor form, but I'm starting to think the entire point of having professional teams in south Florida is so fans everywhere else can whip out their fan dick and measure how much bigger it is.

I bet the Spurs fans don't line up if their team is down 10 for much of the second half and then is down 5 with 28 seconds to go.

/Miami fans probably still leave, though

When the Broncos won the Super Bowl I celebrated by getting tear gassed and maced by pigs.  Calmly waiting for a tshirt sounds maybe better.

Well, cops don't like it too much when people smash windows, flip over cars and set things on fire.

Not saying you did any of these things, but they did happen, and being in the vicinity of the rioting mob was probably a bad idea.

That is a good point.  Even if its a happy celebratory mob at first, cops will try to break it up forcibly. Which leads to window smashings, fires and cars being flipped.   So unless your into burning eyes and lungs and/or being hit with sticks and rubber bullets, it's a much better idea to just go home with the pretty girl on ecstacy.

Denver cops are shiatbags to celebrating groups.  They teargassed my CSU Rams marching band at Invesco Field for playing the schools fight song after beating instate rival CU.

I don't have a horse in this race, but I have the horrible image of a pantsless David Stern post-coital in front of a laptop.

Seeing that the Heat didn't get umteen free throws at the end, I'm wondering if he invested in Flubber.

Now I have to go get brain bleach.

The home team.  Just like every other NBA game ever.

No matter what team you follow, we can all agree that the NBA refs are the worst officials in any sport.  There are more corrupt officials in sports (see: any international sport), but none more incompetent. I'd still rather see the NFL replacement refs (even the version that ESPN portrayed) instead.  Hell, I'd rather see the replacement Dukes of Hazzard officiate a game.
