Cletus C.: That show is becoming battle of the racks. Disgraceful.

meanmutton: Two things about that show annoy me:

1) That the people buying the lockers are the ones assigning prices, despite the fact that we all know that they'll get about 1/4 (Hester) to 1/2 (everyone else) of what they say things are worth and it'll take a month or two to do it.
2) The idiots who fark themselves by playing the stupid "bid him up" game.  All you're doing is making the overall value of the lockers you are buying increase.  Better solution would be to silent auction among themselves so no one has to overpay.

I am pretty sure it is 100% scripted. They decide beforehand who wins which locker, and what kind of artifacts they will 'find' inside (having been placed there beforehand), what they will cost, who will do the appraisal, and who wins. There is no real bidding going on.

That's a twenty dollar bill all day long!

If they really are 'staging/scripting' the show by hiding good finds inside them locking them up, then they are sure ruining alot of perfectly good locks cutting them off like that.....

/for shame
//locks for the homeless!

frepnog: a top loading NES in playable shape is worth 45 dollars tops.  you can get one for less than 10.  fools that pay insane money for NES carts are gadammed retarded.  There is no way that shiat will appreciate in value

...but it already has, or else it wouldn't've gone for $10k.  The fail in this one is that they thought it was the system that was worth $10k.

trotsky: OtherLittleGuy: Hester would have bid up the lawsuit to $2000, and gotten $3750.

Then claimed in the paper he made $6000 on it.

Like those books he found. "10K worth of books!" Yeah, it will take you 20 years to get rid of them all. And don't forget the Elvis Newspapers he found. Signed by the auctioneer, ya know.

Or his locker full of sound and lighting equipment.  And the one full of tower cases.

frepnog: IlGreven: FilmBELOH20: Jim from Saint Paul: She's hot.

That being said, it took 3 years... I am officialy tired of watching these people go "Hey look, a bag of old jeans, I'll sell them for $15 apiece! *CA-CHING SOUND*" when we all KNOW they won;t barely get half that.

It took me far too long, but my last straw was when Darrel found some SCUBA gear in a locker and he was talking about how "This is top of the line gear right, here!  It's worth at least a gazillion dollars!"  It was 1990s model US Divers stuff, which, next to Dacor, is about as bad and cheap as you can get.  Plus, having been in storage that long, all of it would need to be overhauled before it could safely be used, which makes it even more worthless.

...My out was when they thought a regular old NES would sell for $10K, because they saw one go for that on eBay.  Of course, that NES also came with an unopened copy of the Nintendo World Championships cartridge, which might have had a little influence on that big price tag.

/Frankly, these days a late-model top-loading NES would probably sell for a lot more.

a top loading NES in playable shape is worth 45 dollars tops.  you can get one for less than 10.  fools that pay insane money for NES carts are gadammed retarded.  There is no way that shiat will appreciate in value.  Action Comics 1?  Yeah, that is worth something.  Crappy NES game #346 that is rare because no one wanted it in the first place?  yeah.....  there are gonna be some problems there.....  people sometimes forget that some rare things are rare because they were worthless and remain as such.  Action Comics 1 is rare and valuable because it is the first appearance of Superman.  That stupid NES game is rare and valuable for NO farkING REASON other than there aren't many.  The content is still worthless.  People that "invest" (and make no mistake, a person buying a 10000 dollar NES cart think that it is an investment) are in for a rude awakening.

it was the Balelo dude, who had no idea what he was doing.

then he got caught in a BIG drug bust, one that would have broken his probation and sent him back to jail.  so he parked in a closed garage with the engine still running.

he wasn't necessarily the brightest bulb in the bunch.

The rumors about Brandi have persisted but never been confirmed. And she ain't about to confirm them.

The new girl is serious butterface. And Nabila looks like she aged 10 years in the past year. Don't know what happened. She was never DDG but not bad. Then all of a sudden she looked awful.

go to 2nd and Charles.  He found about 100 dollars worth of books.

/digital delivery is killing the paperback and modern life is killing the hardback.

I still like having hard copies of all my gaming books. Sure, a digital copy stored on the phone is nice for on the run reference, but theres just something about having the actual book.
