If you're apprehensive about programming, UDK has a visual scripting tool called kismet that doesn't require a lot of programming knowledge.

Some people just... can't program. Be thankful you didn't spend money on a degree before you find that out - because, believe me, lots of people go through the motions and then spend an eternity flailing naively at best.

Well, see, PYTHON took. For some reason. I DONT KNOW HOW. I guess because Hello World in Python 2.x is print "Hello World". And that's it.

I almost went and took loans and stuff to go to the Art Institute to learn how to program for games.

...I thank my lucky stars I didn't get trapped into that like half my friends did.

Elevator Action, spy hunter and dig dug were my favorite finds.  I'm surprised there aren't java versions of them.  (It's been a while since I looked though).
