Didn't realize the insults at Muslims here were imaginary.

AngryDragon: JesusJuice: This woman is an insane coont, but Muslims brought this on themselves.

If they stop oppressing women, raping children, and murdering everyone, people might have a better image of their faith.

That haven't quite murdered everyone.

They're making a pretty good go if it.

DROxINxTHExWIND: Want to know the real difference between Muslim extremist and Christian extremist? Balls. Yeah, I said it. There are more Muslims who have the balls, or the faith/mental illness, to act on their words and threats. Republicans think that abortion is murder and that there are babies being killed everyday by Godless heathens...so they write an op-ed piece, picket a clinic, or repeatedly vote for idiots who will continually bring anti-abortion measures up for a vote knowing that it will never pass. Muslims don't like something? Your ass is gonna feel it. You disrespect GOD or steal from someone, you get whats coming to you.

George Tiller would like to disagree with you, but he can't because he's too busy being dead.

I for one am glad that very very very few Muslims take seriously the Quran's oft-repeated commands to slay infidels, nor contribute to those who do. Yet I'm with the "militant atheists" on this one: the Quran does in fact say that killing infidels is a religious commandment. Many times in many places.

If people want to say that no longer applies because it was meant for a specific time and place, then where in the Quran does it say that? Why keep a holy book that contains many repeated commands that were only valid for a short while in Arabia in the 7th century AD? And why is it only the commands that are most politically, socially and economically inconvenient that y'all say were meant to apply long long ago and far away away for a limited time only?

The Quran commands [2:180] that people approaching death make a bequest for their near relatives --  was that only valid for for the Arabians of long ago? What about the commandment [2:222] don't have sex with menstruating women? And the order to refrain from gambling and drunkenness [2:219]? And the verse that says "there shall be no compulsion in [the acceptance of] the religion" [2:265], has the obligation to practice that expired long ago?

And what about the many many other things the Quran commands? Please tell us who believeth not, and thine own kind [of persons as well], that those who criticiseth [thy faith over the] many Quranic injunctions that no longer apply that we may STFU and [that those who seek to]1 practice true religion know definitively what it is they must do and not do?

However, like I said, I've got no problem with individual Muslims, or Jews or Christians, who practice or at least say they believe in religions whose commands and precepts I find reprehensible, especially when they don't do those horrible things their Holy Books tell them to (like kill homos, as instructed by Leviticus 20:13, for example). People can believe, or say they believe, or believe in but don't practice, all kinds of crap and still be decent people. (And people can claim to agree with me 100% and still be total assholes to me and everybody else.) But note that it's precisely that the majority of today's Muslims don't "make war on unbelievers where ever [they] find them" that makes them okay with me, so thank you very much for disobeying Allah and/or for saying "that's not valid now." It seems to me that by being decent people -- and apparently inobservant Muslims -- that you risk "inherit[ing] the Hellfire," but it's your behavior toward me and the rest of the unbelievers around you that I care about.

So yes, the cabby was within his rights to object to that mistreatment. In fact, according to the precepts I aim to practice2, he had an obligation to himself and the rest of humanity to do at least what he did (if he can do so and still live and make a living, which itself is the kind of qualification the Quran makes a lot). There is not, nor should there be, any obligation on a taxi driver to believe only what [the presumed majority] want him to believe. Nor should we give a damn about his/her ethnicity, sexuality, national origin or voting or culinary preferences: it's a taxi driver's job to convey passengers safely and according to the prescribed fares and rates from point A to point B, fullstop.

This guy's allegedly zany beliefs don't excuse this biatch's offensively zany behavior. Indeed, if the vast majority of us acted like that toward (presumed) Muslims in person I'd say it would be their obligation to fight us and kill us until we beg for mercy and [9:29] pay the jizya willingly while [we] are humbled.

Ta and ta-ta!3

1 Here I'm mocking the style of Pickthall's sort of translation, which my friend has in paperback, which I read while I'm waiting for the pizza to arrive or something, though for some reason I recall that paperback version uses brackets [ ] instead of parentheses ( ) for this kind of thing. If I'm wrong about that then it's still better this way to distinguish that text's own [elucidatory insertions] from my own ("brilliant" attempts at) wit. Far be it for me to put words into the mouth of Allah.

2  I keep meaning to get around to trying to set down in ASCII a systematic arrangement of those practices and precepts I made up by myself for myself (though I certainly can't claim that most of them are original, only that I copy them because I, and not God or even Nietzsche, have decided they make sense to me), but things like these occasional "revelations" thinly disguised as Fark comments are probably the closest I'm ever going to get to thata. If one or more of y'all ever bother to collect several of them into one text or html file, or even a list of particular links, I'd be very grateful if you'd share it with me:b it'd be a good start if I did that but it's hard enough to tapittytap out this shiat let alone try to keep it straight. My contention is that on the whole my output of this type would be mostly consistent and maybe even something like coherent, and it'd be nice to see whether that Wild Ass-Guess is more or less correct.

2a (Yes, a footnote to a footnote, saying:) I doubt I'll ever get around to writing The Great American Novel of the First Third of the 21st Century either. For which though shouldst be-th grateful, cuz I'd probably want to shop it around to some of y'all Farkers for opinions and critiques.

2b And I might even pay real money for compiling "TheComments" if I can (because I don't really expect anybody to risk head assploding and/or blinding migraines just to be nice), you see.

3 Y'know, it takes me a long time, sometimes literally hours, to put [out] with two fingers [while] staring at the keyboard, such [a (hopefully) clever and (admittedly) pompous waste of time] as this. And for free yet. If the voices in my head told me to tell you I'm not crazy or poetic perhaps they might be mistaken, right?

offmymeds: In the most recent case, an Ashburn, Va., woman unleashed a string of expletives and called 911 to report that she was afraid for her life because she said her cabbie, Abdikar Aden of Alexandria, was "very Muslim."

So let me see if I understand this correctly. There's "Muslim", "sort-of Muslim", "pretty Muslim", "very Muslim" and finally "really Muslim" (?).

My Muslim goes to 11.

I hope my recent comment (above) gave at least one person cause to be at least mildly ticked off by something I said therein. If all o' y'all poor Farkers started agreeing with me it would be a sign of the apocalypse or invasion by Pods or something I might not like very much.

I never said it was a crime.  I was actually defending her right to be an uneducated, racist coont.

The funny thing about Grammar Nazis is that they're almost always wrong, which means y'all are actually the "ignorant people" you pretend (or imagine) others are.  Maybe deep down y'all realize it and react to the insecurity or feelings of inadequacy by trying to act smug and superior so nobody will notice.  I should warn you, however, that much of the time, people will see y'all for who you really are.

Also, it's not such a terrible thing to be wrong, and being arrogant, while annoying, is usually forgivable, especially when you have the facts on your side.  But when you're arrogant ABOUT something you're also wrong about, it tends to rub people the wrong way.  You might want to consider that as well.

Oh, you think referencing a Venn diagram is making a blanket statement? You are officially stupid.

And you are officially a bigot.

I will freely admit I am bigot

We already figured that out.

Aren't you precious.

Precious? Why? For pointing out what you already stated? That you are a bigot. Anyone ever teach you how to make friends instead of being a self deluded asshole who thinks he has all the answers, and everyone who disagrees with you is ignorant? I can play this game with you all you want.

Everyone is a bigot against some people, you too. I never said I had all the answers, nor that everyone who disagrees with me is ignorant. But keep on arguing with what you pretended I said, that is easier.

A Muslim cabbie?? for shame, this isn't New York!

Muslim Cabbie Story:  I was walking home from the train one night here in Chicago and was waiting to cross the street.  The traffic light changed and started to walk across.  Some dumb ass cabbie had been trying to beat the light and ended up having to slam on the brakes and screeched to a halt in the middle of the crosswalk, about 2' in front of me.  I was more than a bit pissed off so I kicked the passenger side door and then walked around the back of the cab and continued across the street.  Well, the cabbie did not think he did anything wrong and started yelling at me out the window.  I looked, thought he looked Arabic, so on a whim I showed him the bottom of my shoe and pointed it at it.  Holy fark!  I thought his head was going to explode!  He started yelling at me in his native tongue, was sputtering with rage, and was banging his steering wheel with his hands.   It was hilarious!

Tim McVeigh like much of the militia/white power movement, was a follower of Christian Identity. He based his whole life around their favorite book, The Turner Diaries.

And you neglected to mention the Klan, an explicitly Christian organization.

I was not aware that the Klan was a general category of today's type of Christian.

How do I know you're a bourgeois Yankee bigot? Hint: not everybody who lives in the former Confederacy is  inferior to you in every way, not even when they're white. And prejudice against the "wrong" kind of white people is still a Bad Thing.

Welcome to my Ignore list. Nothing you might say can possibly be of any value, dumbass bigot.
