So I guess he was grounded.

That sounds like something my current batch of freshmen students would do. The vast majority of them have no common sense.

/Last day of school!
//Most of them will be back in a week for summer school!

I need more details before calling it a Darwin award. There should be no exposed live wires anywhere save a few places like substations, train and bus overheads and third rails. Either the school is significantly at fault or they managed to break open an electrical conduit.

Parkour will do that...  Conduits aren't designed to have 160 pounds of monkey teenager hanging from them.

It's quite likely this is the case but the article seems to imply the wires were already exposed. I'm leaning heavily towards dumbass kids treating everything like a jungle gym.

They should have launched over it instead.

I'm thinking overhead electrical service feed with drop wires.  You gotta be a dumbass to hang from such but Dar wins.

This. I read the article and realized that the headline should've been "Teen dies after trespassing on school property."

FTFA: Bennett had finished his last day of school at Rachel Carson Middle School on Tuesday and had met up with some friends to kick off the summer.

Well, he certainly kicked himself off this summer.
