Not gonna lie... this had me in tears. "He said you're not that great!" "Oh... that's my hand."

Looks like Tits McGee has a much smaller role.

I think this is the first trailer I've seen that has an ad for another trailer in it.

After all those box office bombs, Will decided he wants to start making money again and he knew what side his bread was buttered on.

Explosive diarrhea is hilarious! That's why it gets top billing in all of Judd Apatow's movies.

Let's go into a thread about a highly anticipated Will Farrell movie and say how unfunny Will Farrell is.
Shut your whore mouths.
I am REALLY looking forward to this movie.

I put Will in the same place as Adam Sandler.  Some funny moments here and there.  But hardly worthy of his stature.

All I can say is "It's about farking time!"

Anchorman was Ferrell's best film, and should have had a sequel years ago. I just hope we haven't seen all the funny parts in the trailer.

"I concur," he said, adjusting his thick black framed glasses. A glint of sunlight dashed off the Apple logo on his laptop. Ah, the irony, he thought. He had found the quaint coffee shop in Brooklyn before anyone else but they had yet to install the window blinds. And irony of ironies, he had his ending. He flipped open the laptop and after ten years of planning, typed the first words of his Great American Novel.

I thought Will Farrell was unfunny back before anyone else did but now I think he's funny because irony and it's so mainstream to think he's unfunny.

To me, Will Ferrell has only been funny in two things: Anchorman, and Zoolander.

I'd watch a sequel to either one.

I look forward to Anchorman 2. Not because Will Ferrell is particularly funny but because the whole cast is funny when put together. Plus I want to see the Brick girl. "I like the parts of your face...that... Are... Covered in ...Skin."

I lost it

Anchorman was set in the 70s?

Says someone who's never seen Step Brothers, Casa de mi padre, Elf, Jeopardy skits on SNL, or the Landlord on Funny or Die?

Awesome trailer, but is anyone else bothered by how it hints that Ron and Veronica have broken up? Wouldn't that kinda mean that the entire last movie was undone?

That would be the equivalent of the next Star Wars movie opening with Luke turned to the dark side and in charge of the Empire, which is back somehow.

Big plot point of the movie is a custody battle.  I would imagine the happy ending is them getting back together.

Since the prequels effectively ensured nothing in Star Wars will ever matter again, I say fark it, start er up that way. Be interesting if nothing else.

Yes.

I mean, I've seen all of those things, and didn't DISLIKE him there (with the exception of Elf), but still didn't really find him funny. Just passable.

I do agree with the poster who brought up Stranger than Fiction. I liked that movie, and liked Ferrell. HOWEVER, he wasn't funny. Just a normal guy. It was a good little movie.

I wouldn't say the character was at all a "normal person," he just wasn't the screaming manchild that Ferrell has generally been typecast as.

But yeah, I thought he was good in that as well.

Someone on Reddit said that Veronica gets eaten by dolphins, which would fit perfectly into the style of the series. Maybe the custody battle is with Veronica's family, or even over completely different characters' kids.

I saw the interview with the director mentioning the custody battle, and it was from when nothing was finalized yet, so they could have cut that out. Then again, he also said that it would involve "bowling for dollars," so he may have just been joking about the whole thing.

/You can tell that I really don't want them to divorce

So they're living happily ever after when she gets eaten by dolphins, which puts him back in depressed man-boy mode (hence the beginning with Baxter), and a desperate producer launching the first 24-hour news channel decides to hire him and the team to fill some extra time? That... actually sounds awesome. .

Wait, you actually care about the characters? In a Will Ferrell movie?

I didn't see a single gag in that trailer that was funnier than even the flattest ones in the original.

Sophie's Choice was funner than his last movie.  Although he was excellent in Django Unchained by not being in it.

Will Ferrell had an excellent SNL career first off. Mr. Tarkanian sketch is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

In terms of movies he was reasonably funny in: Anchorman, Step Bros, Semi-Pro, The Ladies Man, Elf, Old School, The Other Guys, Wedding Crashers, and Blades of Glory. I am not sure I can include Night At The Roxbury, it was decent at the time, had some good parts.

He did get a little played out during his peak, and I definitely rolled my eyes at seeing yet another WF movie coming out. But when I would eventually sit down and watch them, he was always pretty funny.

I liked Blades of Glory. Especially their first dance number being Aerosmith.
