I knew about all of those before they were cool.

Also list fails without a basselope.

Seriously though, some of those canids are pretty neat. Also I once got the chance to pet a Patagonian mara.

Pink Fairy Armadillo would be cool in East texas sand if it could eat fire ants.

If you can work out the ballsack problems that will freak some potential owners out you might have something there.

There is a weird Japanese thing about mythological raccoons with enormous testicles.

Also known as The Sunda flying lemur, it is not actually a lemur and does not fly.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but anyone who refuses to believe in evolution needs to stare at this photo for a while.  Almost every animal shown in TFA has some adaptation suited specifically to their environment.

Also, "dhole" is (besides hilarious) a monster by H.P. Lovecraft.

What you're describing is the thoroughly debunked theory of Lamarckism.

AverageAmericanGuy: Lamarckism

Developing longer legs to survive in high grassland isn't Lamarckism.  The Canids didn't develop those traits within a lifetime or even hundreds of lifetimes, but rather over centuries of adaptation to survival in their environment.  Speciation and divergence.

/also took Biology 101 (and 102, and 208, and . . .)

If you look down just about anything's throat it's going to be horrifying, even if it's your own.

Lamprey aren't that bad, they're brown to look like a submerged stick so they don't get eaten by predators (which they often do anyway) and they have beautiful blue eyes.

"What's a noticable feature of this animal that will allow us to easily identify one in the wild?  One that people are sure to notice?"
"Um, it has some black fur on its head"
"Brilliant!  We'll call it the Tufted Deer!  Surely nobody can miss the fact that it has fur on its head!"
