(Huffington Post)   Well, Frank Luntz may be personally responsible for the fact that the modern political process is so toxic and hyper-partisan, but at least he's made a shiatload of money along the way   (huffingtonpost.com) divider line 30

i'm not saying that i dislike the guy; i'm just saying that if i had a time machine, i'd go back and kill his parents before they conceived.

but if they never conceived, you wouldn't have any reason to go back to prevent his being conceived.  If you didn't prevent his being conceived...

You could just kick him in the ball, it would probably be reasonably satisfying.

Well if that isn't toxic and hyper-partisan, I don't know what is.

I'm pretty sure that's a statue of Ben Franklin jerking off on a bench while dreaming about Betsy Ross. Impressive left-handed action.

Poor guy. I'm sure he is taxed enough already.

On a serious note... I don't care if you make a ton of money. By all means, make as much as you can, if that's your passion. I care if you make a ton of money and claim you are taxed too much, when you know you are not... and you want to screw the little people to get even richer.

But it is ok because it is Frank's fault.

It's the American dream. Make a fortune while pissing on the system.

He needs to get ass-cancer and elephantisis of the scrotum.

Why, yes, I'm a bleeding-heart liberal. If you have a problem with my opinion, go fark yourself with a cactus.

Reminds me of a scene near the end of "A Man for All Seasons", right after Richard Rich gave false testimony to convict Sir Thomas More of treason:

More: There is one question I would like to ask the witness.
That's a chain of office you're wearing.
(to the judge) May I see it?

[More looks at the chain around Rich's neck]

More: The Red Dragon. What's this?
Judge: Sir Richard is appointed Attorney General for Wales.
More: Why, Richard, it profits a man nothing to give his
soul for the whole world. But for Wales?

Enjoy the spoils, Frankie.  Perhaps they will comfort you near the end of your life as you wonder what became of your soul.

"...the modern political process is so toxic and hyper-partisan, but at least he's made a shiatload of money along the way"

Doesn't this describe the system in general?  All these people milk the flawed system for all it's worth, and they all - to a man - leave office much wealthier than when they entered.

"...Luntz may be personally responsible for the fact that the modern political process is so toxic and hyper-partisan..."

Hey, don't forget about Grover Norquist...he is, at least, equally responsible.

If we're going to place blame for hyperpartisanship, don't forget to save Joe Biden a place at the table. Surely the man who made it acceptable to block nominations on ideological grounds deserves a spot.

Some of his most-prized possessions include ... a billiard table once owned by Ulysses S. Grant. He explained that these items are representative of people "who did the right thing at great personal expense," he says. "These are the guys who represented courage in times of crisis, and I wanted to be surrounded by them."

I would assume Grant's billiard table was where his friends begged him for jobs in his administration, which they then used for widespread corruption. It's probably the worst artifact to represent the man this side of his order banning jews from the Union army camps.

Frank Luntz- his last name rhymes with a one-word description of the nature of all members and supporters of the Republican Party which the Fark filters will not allow to be posted.

He's a classic sophist and would fit right into one of Plato's dialogues, getting owned by Socrates.

true - but luntz is the one responsible for phrases such as "death tax" and "pro-abortion." he is an asshole parasite of the first order.

All the guy does is focus group testing and stat analytics... he didn't make America a nation of morons, he just pointed it out to the politicians that pay him.

Lost Thought 00: He's got nothing on Lee Atwater

I used to think that but Luntz might have actually eclipsed Atwater, after all these years.

But whatever... they can both rot in the 9th Circle with the rest of the treacherous.

/wish the afterlife was real and that i could watch them fry for eternity

Don't forget about "climate change" and "the war on terror."

I wouldn't say he's responsible for the toxic hyper partisan modern political process, but he's definitely to blame for enabling conservative politicians to use language as a weapon to fool the idiot masses into voting against their best interests.  He's more like a smart guy who sold his soul to the devil rather than the devil himself.  His loyalty is to his bank account rather than his party.  He just found that he makes more money by using his "powers" for evil rather than good.  The evils would still be looking to do evil even if he wasn't involved, he just provided a good means for them to do their evil.

Hell, maybe he is to blame...

You may hate the guy, but his book 'Words that Work' is a pretty interesting read.

I'm sure the library has a copy.

Frank Luntz is a desk Nazi. The very definition of "the banality of evil".
