Halstread: Que Stealth Hippo and pictures of sweet, sweet yoga pants.

Do you really want to see yoga pants on people who weigh 1500 lbs?

Look at the pictures. If his 'art' had been artistic there'd be far fewer complaints.

This.  I've seen three-year-old children poop better art.

The My Little Pony Killer:

Yeah, but then he wouldn't be able to give interviews to papers acting all surprised that people are upset.

But nobody seems to be particularly upset.  The rock was not being used for anything other than a turn-around point in an annual sailboat race.  As far as I can tell, the only suggestion of any complaint is the artist himself, claiming "someone said..."

The feds are the owners, so nobody really has legal standing except them, and they don't appear to give a hoot.  It would cost them more to knock it down than to just ignore it until our next earthquake, when the problem will take care of itself.

Dirtybird971: IDK how to post a picture but I have the exact sculpture on my desk at work. I'm going to sue for intellectual rights infringements.

You must have a mighty big desk.

well, and I mean this with all humility, I AM very important.

All depends if you like his style I guess.  I'm sure the artist will love my project too, a fifty foot cardboard and rusting rebar yoga dog that's appearing to poop out his art.  Clearly only art haters will have a problem with this.

Ricardo Klement: Well, it IS letting in Satan.

Indeed. Not only is it promoting Satan's yogic agenda, but as a tool of Satan it could be brought to life to eliminate his enemies.

Ice will start chewing at it soon. When those cracks get filled with ice there will be some interesting stresses.

bunner: The My Little Pony Killer: bunner: That being said, it's not like some tagger jerkoff who learned to make a Krylon cartoon over and over.  Does somebody own the damn rocks?

They only make it once. You see, there are these things called "stencils" that many taggers use.

Yeah, the method is sort of not the point I was going for however a stencil makes sense.  I know what a stencil is.  Sorry to disappoint.   :  )

I get what you're getting at, I just needed to pedant about something.

I like it. But then I am a hippie. And it does look like it could be something of a hazard if the wind caught it right.

I love the idea of guerrilla art, but I do get that stuff can't just be plonked somewhere without the authorities having to intervene every now and then. It's like the tourists who leave offerings to Pele by volcanoes in Hawaii. In theory they're being respectful. In practice they're fouling up the area and hurting local wildlife.

Wonder how the "Artist" would feel if I used it for target practice.
