Didn't they do that with someone at one point? For a month. They ignored someone for 30 days, it worked pretty well.

Actually, we have the same problem with Palin we do here: not enough people will just ignore them

/all it takes is one to satisfy their craving for attention

Jon Oliver is farking killing it.

He better get his own show out of this.

The more she's ignored, the more ludicrous her cries for attention will grow. Hell, we're already well into "alert paparazzi for photo op dismounting snowmobile whilst wearing extra-short skirt and 'oops, I forgot my drawers, you betcha'" territory.

Well, now, let's stop and think about this for a moment...

But I might be the one that get's them to shut up!  I might be the one that makes them admit they are foolish!

I can't stop now, honey, there's somebody wrong on the internet!

Agreed. He's really good. Surprisingly so. Lets turn that 1hr into 1.5 hours! Soon Daily Show, Colbert Report, and "Happy Oliver Half-Hour" will have to create their own station.

Well hell. If we can ignore Pelosi, why let Palin feel alone.

Yes, the press tend to go for the bait a lot don't they.

I'd love to just ignore people like Sarah Palin, or Rush Limbaugh, or Glenn Beck, or a thousand other derpsters of their ilk, but I'm not sure we actually can as long as the Republican Party is giving them power to influence their legislative agenda.

This is not news to anyone who listened to The Bugle podcasts.

They're going to have to, they can't intrude on the 10:30 slot; South Park, Tosh.0, and Key and Peele are doing too well, and asking viewers to stay up for a midnight slot is asking too much.

Ignoring isnt a solution. Would you ignore cancer? Nope, you have to either surgically or chemically remove it from existence. Orrr.... Nuke it from orbit...

Not sure John Oliver needs his own show; Stewart keeps joking about getting old, and he's been running the Daily Show for over a decade.  He's now filming a more social-conscience oriented item, and he's secured a reputation that gives him pretty strong journalistic cred, especially internationally, as a representative of a fair and free media rather than pushing a specific agenda.

I see this summer as an extended trial.  Wouldn't be surprised at all to see Stewart take a step back, hand over the Daily Show to Oliver (while still remaining on staff as a writer and coming on for occasional specials, like Lewis Black's Back in Black segments), and push forward doing his own thing, with the combination of the Daily Show (which if Oliver remains strong, will be just as good as ever) and the Colbert Report to back him and his projects.

No, I refuse to ignore her. She's a great poster child for everything that is wrong with the Republican Party today.

He's doing a crappy job of ignoring her by talking about her.  See... if you want to ignore, you have to - - ignore.  One cannot keep blathering about ignoring something while talking about it at the same time.  I'm looking at you, Fark.  She stopped being interesting around Setpember of 2008... but you just can't quit her, can you?

She's a walking talking pile of poop that I like to rub Republican's noses in. It's a really guilty pleasure of mine.

I said this five years ago but I didn't get a Fark thread.   Face it, knee-jerk partisan Dems and knee-jerk partisan GOPers are all idiots.  They are the "easily riled" set which is to say the easily manipulated set.

No, they cant.  Because if they did, they would have to talk to someone that they would have less ability to mock, and who might actually be leading their opposition.

that said, that clip was very well done.  I bet they dont ignore her though.
