Even if they aren't real guns, they can still be dangerous.

A wrong move and someone could lose an eye.

Big question is: which school impressed the school board more: Harvard Law, Yale Law, George Washington Law. And they thought Pat Robertson had invented law schools.

And as long as they only have one. There is no justifiable reason for anyone but the military and the police to own or equip more than one pencil, even unsharpened.

When they outlaw pencils, only the outlaws will have pencils.

Is it OK to pretend your pencil is a laser? Ha! I've got them on a technicality.

Also, I have novelty pens with an LED light built into one end*, so laser pointer is not out of the question.

*Handy for reading in the dark. There's an LED in everything nowadays. It's the digital clock of the Twenty First Century. I have one in my keychain (for opening doors in the dark). You can buy them in bubble packs and stick them on anything that is not manufactured with one. Need a light on your banana? Go ahead! Put a light on your banana! Banana is not a euphemism for penis. You have to squeeze these damn LEDs quite hard to get them to work.

This.

And don't even get me started on those mechanical pencils that carry several pieces of extra rounds...err...pieces of graphite.  Why does any one person need that much?  How much are these people writing?

Don't worry, it'll get filtered out and dumbed down before it reaches anything meaningful.

What about pens? Why has no one considered how dangerous the pens are? They're PERMANENT!

The stupid fark short sighted farks are creating the future school spree shooters.  What do you think will happen when the kids farked over by the retards "in charge" can't find any gainful employment due to those marks on their records?  They're going to want payback but as usual they target the people that nothing to do with it instead of the stupid farks that probably moved on and/or retired.

Im waiting for the day when a kid kills another kid by stabbing them in the neck with a pencil, or beats another kid to death with a chair. I just want to see the ensuing panic.

The board voted unanimously to approve the policy change last week. Ordinary objects will no longer be considered weapons.

Oddly enough, a sharpened pencil can be an effective weapon; much more so than, say, a pop-tart.

I was stabbed in the thigh with a pencil as a kid by some crazy girl. Now I'm not saying I didn't deserve it, but damn I can still see that shiat below the skin, just staring at me as a reminder to not be a dick to crazy girls...because they're crazy.

The pencil is a gateway weapon! First it's a pencil, then they move on to a protractor. Next thing you know they are threatening the world from their volcano lair with a WMD!

What about semiautomatic mechanical pencils with multiple spare leads?

I managed to do that to myself and can still see the piece of graphite in my leg as well... Good ting it's not actually lead...

They don't need those, they can make do with golf pencils.

What about the large-caliber pencils typically provided to younger students?

Meanwhile, at my kids' elementary school, they gave my 7-year-old's class squirt guns and water balloons and let them have a water fight for the last day of school.  They had a huge kiddie pool full of water for them to refill at and buckets of water balloons we room-parents spent the morning filling.  The best part was when the fire department next door came over and used the hoses to shoot water into the air for the kids to run under.

"It's a teachable moment. It's not a suspension moment for a 7-year-old," said Andrea DeBruin-Parecki, graduate program direct of early children education at Old Dominion University, to. "You call the boys aside, and you explain to them why it's not appropriate to do this in school."

Ya know what?  FARK YOU.

You pull them aside and tell them that what they did was perfectly fine, and that the schools is stupid, and made a mistake for punishing them.

Those must be strictly regulated. Before someone can own one, they must undergo a rigorous background check and pay a licensing fee. Really, only the children of those who are bodyguards for the rich and famous have any business owning one.

I wonder if these doofuses ever played cowboys and Indians in school.

You mention that now and they'd have their panties in a bunch over racism.

Meh.  I'm part Cherokee and I have no objection.

Can't help but think, every time I see a kid pretending a stick is a gun, some bleeding heart wuss of a teacher is going to be all over him for *gasp!* pretending to have a gun....

Fark political correctness!

When I was in 9th grade a girl stabbed me in the leg with a pencil. The tip broke off. I still have a little tiny dot there.
