And if crime goes down in that neighborhood, we will never hear about it.

Stolen: Coy Toloman said she got a gun after her statue, which she calls 'Lilly Rose', was taken off her front porch when she was home

I'm all for people defending themselves, but are you really going to kill someone for stealing your garden statue? Jesus.

Yea, I noticed this, too.  "Responsible" gun owners.   :)

Clean up after your dog upon pain of death!

FTA: While the increase in neighborhood crime is mostly petty, with incidents of vandalism and stolen law ornaments, Toloman has had enough.

Yeah, that requires an armed response.  Well, if they are stealing law, then I guess they were just lawless and wanted some law.

2013-06-18 11:11:12 AM
Oh this should end well.

Does seem a bit draconian.  Maybe just wound them a little.  Shoot off the perpetrator's right hand or something.

In other news, I do see this reducing crime in the neighborhood, but I still see it ending badly overall.  Betsy McShakesalot could end up shooting a bystander, or a neighbor through a window, missing her target completely.  Or Feely O'Nervousnilly having his gun taken from him coz he's paralyzed with fear, and then having it used on him.

2013-06-18 11:12:12 AM
Any stats on how many paperboys & pizza-delivery people have been shot so far?

2013-06-18 11:12:18 AM
Glock trifecta in play!

2013-06-18 11:12:23 AM
"911, what is the nature of your emergency?"

"I, uh, I shot a guy! I didn't mean to, I mean he's my friend. Oh god."

"Sir, what is your current location?"

"He was standing by the statue, oh God! Oh God, this wasn't supposed to ha-happen. He was on the Glock Block..." *sobs*

2013-06-18 11:12:40 AM
Well, if I ever wanted to steal a gun, I know which houses will have them.

2013-06-18 11:13:09 AM
Seems like we have a Glock trifecta in play, doesn't it?

2013-06-18 11:13:32 AM
These people are crazy. I hope they get suckered into some death cult.

2013-06-18 11:14:02 AM
Are they going to shoot people for not picking up dog crap or parking in the street? A vigilante organization has no system for issuing enforceable fines and other levied actions.

FTA: While the increase in neighborhood crime is mostly petty, with incidents of vandalism and stolen law ornaments, Toloman has had enough.

So basically, they're terrified of, and arming themselves against kids.

Yes because obviously the proper response to what is most likely stupid teenagers being stupid teenagers is to arm the entire neighborhood and shoot on sight

Does anyone else get the feeling that none of the other neighbors knew what they were signing up for?

The way she's describes the it sounds more like they just chatted with her about getting a gun since she felt like it would make her more secure.  Then they let her put up "glock block" flyers around the neighborhood because they thought it might scare away ruffians.

Now she's notified the news that they will be assasinating all vandals execution-style before notifying authorities.

was about to quote same line, and noticed your grammar Nazi part, but it does seem the editors are asleep

/also, it's petty crimes, ain't worth shooting over
//maybe getting the Louisville slugger or 15" crescent wrench though

2013-06-18 11:15:38 AM
Well sometimes petty theft can escalate but this is a bit of a crazy response towards lawn ornaments. Hopefully the signs work and they stop stealing sh*t.

Meh. I'm as liberal as they come but if crime legitimately went up in their neighborhood and they want to arm themselves, have at it.  That said, if anyone kills somebody for any reason other than self-defense then let's set up some crappy cells as their homes for several years.

Yeah, see, I figure what's going to happen, is this trigger-happy Queen of Rationale is going to find herself in prison for homicide, because, you know, you seriously can't just go around farking shooting people. I don't care how nice your statue was.

Why not?
Some dumbass decides their life is worth a garden statue, I'm all for the owner taking them up on their offer.

Saw this on the local news last night. The woman literally looked like she was going to have a heart attack when talking about her statue. I expected this to be a story about out in Felony Flats or something, but no, it's in suburbia. What a loon.

2013-06-18 11:19:47 AM
I really like where this is headed.  I've always found the suburbs too boring for my taste, but there's nothing like a little gunplay to spice things up.

2013-06-18 11:19:59 AM
Why stop there? Spiked pits and bear traps. Push this envelope, push it as far and as deep as it can be pushed. Stuff it until it's bulging with promise and then it bursts, overflowing with the disappointment and awkward social interaction that can be the only real result. The moment, that's what matters. Hit that shiat.

Clackamas.  Have they built a statue for their fake hero Nick Meli yet?

Without even looking up the Glock Block addresses, I will be able to recognize the place by the smell of pants-shiatting cowardice wafting on the breeze. Kind of like being downwind of an NRA or Tea Party meeting.

2013-06-18 11:20:39 AM
Okay, wait. These people can hang propaganda in their neighborhood, threatening death.

Soooo how is this not domestic terrorism?

2013-06-18 11:20:55 AM
If you are in danger, the police are under no obligation to help you or put themselves in harms way to save your life.
This is now public policy and has been stated as such.
The police can kill you, your family, ruin your life and run over your dog and they will suffer no penalty what so ever.

We, as a society need to get rid of our police force and find another way.  Police forces only serve and protect rich neighborhoods from the middle class.  They have effectively stopped protecting the middle class from the poor.

/rambling maniac most days, every now and then a prophet.

You hand wringing gun grabbers keep making that claim, yet time after time gun owners make the shot even under pressure while cops gun down 6 in NY city.

2013-06-18 11:22:02 AM
Anyone who thinks this is a good idea is as crazy as the yahoos the article is written about. Clean up your town and you won't have problems you need to carry a gun for.
