It's possible these two fathers became excited about their daughters' involvement in soccer.

At one of my son's games I was that dad, getting madder and madder at each perceived slight. I wasn't being violent but I was definitely being hostile. And an asshole. One of the dads from the other team, who by this I hated, came over and stood next to me. He looked ex military and could easily take me apart with very little effort. Then he started talking to me, calmly. He asked me which kid was mine, then complimented him on being a good player. He talked about what a good game it was, two good teams trying their best, blah blah blah. He never confronted or challenged me, or did anything other than make banal small talk. What he did do is show me by contrast what a jerk I was being. I calmed down almost immediately, sat down and shut up for the rest of the game. I always wanted to thank him for that.

At least they're kicking the shiat out of each other instead of their kids.

the article said Waterloo, at RIM park, so the poor white trash is probably right, but they were probably grad students or Blackberry/RIM employees.

I'm sure that incident will do much to calm anti-Islam sentiment in the Netherlands.

As for the guy in TFA, he'll get a 3-minute major, maybe a one game suspension.

Indeed a CSB.
:)
I pray for such patience and wisdom.
(And work on it too)

Buckler, thanks for those signs, they really put things in perspective.

As a parent the only thing that would worry me is what I'd do if I saw a kid purposely hurting my kid (and/or other kids) on the field.

A lot of times the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and it is the parent that instilled this kind o behavior in the kid. So, usually, any attempt to have a grown up discussion with the other parent might just make things worse.
