Could be a dog.

Could be virtually any four-legged land mammal, except maybe an elephant.

didn't someone already make a 4 legged robot that could run incredibly fast and looked creepy as hell doing it?

I'm sure it has some nice mechanism and an highly optimized controller software but can we stop referring to RC toys as robots?

Thanks.

/pretty damn efficient if you don't mind motion sickness and a raw taint

For the kinds of exploration we do right now on other planets, an elephant-leg based robot seems more practical.

Slow, efficient, and stable. Not nearly as exciting I guess.

All robot cats should get fixed.  Otherwise we'll be awash in robot kittens.

They've recreated less than a third of the joints. From the elbow/knee out it's not even controlled but just springs. The shoulder only moves in one plane. You can call it cat-like when it can move elegantly. On top of that what's really needed for cat-like motion is a visual system and some robust AI.

Cats really need to learn to puke outside. Why is it they can be trained to use a litter box, but when it comes to vomit, on the bed is seen as good a place as anywhere?

I don't know how people can claim cats are 'clean' animals. I don't know of any other animals that is comfortable with vomiting where it sleeps.
