The makeup in that movie was phenomenal. (Not a bad book either)

That was a crazy movie. Haven't seen it in forever, though.

If this ever became available I'd make sure I bought a copy. It's one of my favorite movies.

The movie wasn't that good but I have a fondness for it I can't explain.

Perhaps the comic fan in me looks at them like a movie adaptation of the X-Men's Morlocks.

I loved this movie.  For me it was one of the first that had the creatures as the protagonists.

Good movie, but yeah, you can tell it got edited to hell and back.  Barker has mentioned before the possibility of a director's cut is almost nil because the lost footage is, well, lost.

But this movie is still great.  Great makeup, great music from Danny Elfman in his prime, and David Cronenberg is just as creepy on the other side of the camera.  Button-face is still a terrifying figure, a monster's monster.  They just did a poor job of explaining how he was manipulating Boone.

Is this the "wolfmans got nards" movie? If so, I loved it when I was a kid...

And somehow, there is no DVD available for Hawk the Slayer, or a Kickstarter for Hawk the Slayer 2.

Poor Christian Shepherd.

I think it speaks ill of me, but I'd pay good money for both a director's cut of Nightbreed and a proper cut of Hawk the Slayer.

Not entirely lost.

Last year I had a chance to watch the "Cabal Cut", which is the full version of the film.  The problem is that the sources for the "lost" footage is almost entirely VHS tapes, so the quality dips in those scenes.

Hell yes! I was a big fan of this after seeing it in theaters. I even bought the graphic novels, comics (they even had a cross over with Hell Raiser) and the book (Cabal, I believe).

It wasn't until much later that I found out that D. Cronenberg played Decker. I already have it on dvd, but would spring for a for the full version bluray in a hot second.

I actually re-watched this gem from my early 20's a few weeks ago.  Still dug it, but I am real excited about this "Director's Cut" possibility.  From what I read most recently, its still a possibility.

I heard George Lucas has offered to come out of retirement to do a Special Edition Nighbreed.

Just imagine all the extra creatures and Imperial Walkers and stuff!!!

Add me to the list. I have a special fondness for Pelloquin and Cronenberg was creepier than most anything I've seen since.
