They missed some.

I could tell slide 37 was coming. I didn't guess the exact number though, so that was disappointing.

THis list sucks.

That was a pretty good twist. I had assumed they would be 0-39.

It's an okay list, but I would've changed the order of the top ten around.

Seriously? They put 2.99992 on the list but didn't bother to include a single irrational number? Pi is like the most important number for modern science and they didn't even mention it.

Pi is over rated. There I said it!

No e either.  Totally lame.

Of course the Cracked version would only have 5 entries, and 3 of them wouldn't actually be numbers.

2013-06-17 10:14:16 AM
81 is a good number, I know it doesn't technically meet the criteria but they should have included it anyways, at least as an honorable mention.

Can someone post a list.  There is no way I am going to give the Onion the page clicks.  Not after Macho Grande.

Snubbing Phi?  That's gold, Jerry!

2013-06-17 10:19:34 AM
Well they didn't list zero... but by not listing it did they list it? So would that make the list 41?

I really wish everyone would just stop whining about slide shows. These website generate the content that we love and enjoy. They deserve the clicks for all their hard work. Without this content the web would be empty and boring.  You think making a list of 40 numbers under 40 is easy? Fine then do it yourself Mr. mathematician but I'll leave this sort of work for the experts.

2013-06-17 10:24:22 AM
27 is the greatest number of all time and I am upset they left it out.

One of my favorite things about the Onion is that they have adopted keyboard controlled slide shows so you can arrow between slides.

the list should have gone to 42.
I hate lists put together by people with no farking skills other than they blew/went down on someone to get a lousy web gig.
May as well have randomly polled some of those Youtube "celebs"  for the answers. Or  the staff at TMZ.
hell, I'd be more interested in what Amanda Bynes thought on the subject than whatever knob-gobbler wrote that piece of junk.

Look, just because you don't agree with the list doesn't mean you have to crap all over the the thread. We've all seen you in the other threads pushing for the .4 to .8 range. If you want to be involved in the discussion just tell us what numbers you would have picked instead.

Sadly, I have no favorite things about the Onion anymore. They have become completely irrelevant in both the sarcasm and humor departments. However, I do like 11 for the same reason they ignored Pi.

I think I've only heard of about 3 of those numbers. Just because 7 doesn't have a decimal point doesn't mean it's not a damn fine number. I don't get all the 7 hate.

Sad note: t-ball stand was hung over from the drunken orgy the night before, went into rehab the next day, and had to be replaced.

Haha this was funny in a deeper sense. I am sick of "Top x" lists that are simply for linkbait and are little than someone's opinion thrown together.

Back in my day, we only cared about numbers under 37.   And you know what?  It was a better time.
