To be, or not to be, that is the question....which subby answered by leaving "be" out of "to be made in California".

OgreMagi: People will fall for the dumbest marketing bullshiat.

Beer, wine, and liquor, especially.

Had a guy recently come in and order a Bud Light Lime. We don't carry it, so I offered him a Bud Light with a lime, like the pilgrims drank it (just a dumb joke I always say). He switched to Grey Goose. Dude was a marketing major's wet dream.

Newcastle has a good sense of humor about it:

Unless there's a red blend called "red like the blood of an HIV postive barebacking queer", I am unaware of any homophobia in the California wine industry. I mean.... It's the wine industry.

Kind of what I was wondering.

Does the cork fit in the bottle?

(this is only funny spoken in a British accent)

And here's my camp.  There's non-gay-friendly wine?  From the gays I've known, alcohol in general is gay-friendly.

Personally, I find it straight-friendly, too.

White wine and blush, yes. I'm not so sure about the reds.

Yes, but was what you were drinking gay-friendly?  And what do you mean you WERE drinking?  This is Sunday.  The Lord's day.  It should be I AM drinking.

Well, this is at odds with the gay-hostile cheese industry.

2013-06-16 07:28:03 PM
Obviously this gay wine must be made with some kind of super-homosexual alcohol that will no doubt turn the imbiber amorously toward their own sex.

2013-06-16 07:28:06 PM
Maybe gay friendly wine just has a different shaped bottle.

Not enough attention has been paid to this under-represented market. I'm, for one, glad to see the gay market getting some much deserved marketing dollars.

I'm not surprised most of you haven't heard of gay wines. For all your supposed worldliness, you Farkers sure know jack shiat about minority cultures in this country.

Conversion Van Morrison: poorly written headlines to be made by subby

Seriously.  Resubmit.  One wonders about the reading comprehension levels of our readers and mods.

Not that I haven't gone green with a grammatically incorrect headline.

So, I actually had Same Sex Meritage (the wine) a few weeks ago and it was really good. If the message is gimmicky, try it for the taste anyway

//I'm not a wine snob, though, and I cant differentiate between which shiat fertilized which grapes, so ymmv.

Gay friendly?  I object to this label as it insinuates that unless you put a pro-gay label on your wine you are not gay friendly (or gay unfriendly). Do we now have to have a problem with politically agnostic businesses? Especially small businesses like the many California wineries?

Um...sensuous man-woman Dionysus (aka. Bacchus) holding his thyrsus dripping with honey and followed by his merry band of Satyrs? Wine has always been "gay-friendly."

/Would include a pic, but not sure if art wieners are mod safe. Art wieners.
