Good news everybody! Brunette Fandangette is alive and well and living in Buffalo.

Tomorrow night, on Raw - he's been cleared to return after a lengthy absence. He's ready, and hungry to regain what us rightfully his.

He is the longest reigning, defending TTC of all time.

He is an fWc midcard legend.

He is...IAmTheTagTeamChampions.

/Yay, my first ever green!

cman: This PPV is so underwhelming that it isnt even worth stealing

But, this is the first PPV in a while where all the matches had some sort of real feud leading up to the event.  The main event will be a stinker, but at least we get some DBD action.  Hopefully, Punk actually shows up and saves us all.

Punk is in Boston. Search your feelings you know this to be true.

2013-06-16 04:12:58 PM
My picks for this evening:

- Lobster Head wins against Kenny Loggins on the Preshow.

- Kaitlyn retains her Divas title over AJ, FARKers have to change their pants.

- Does Kane beat Dean Ambrose for the U.S. Title? NOPE.

- Curtis Axel makes history, becomes the first son of a former Intercontinental Champion to win the IC Title.

- The Shield holds up against DBD and Randy "Pooped Where?!" Orton

- "Best in the World" Up In This b*tch! C.M. Punk beats Jericho in Chi-Town

- Dolph Ziggler deports Alberto Del Rio, retains the World Heavyweight Championship

- John Cena retains WWE Championship against not-Goldberg in "3 Stages of Hell". WHAT A TWIST! :P

Place your bets accordingly, people!

Pretty much that.

I don't see any surprises happening tonight, unless Punk no-shows.

Triple Oak has arrived, live from Grandma's house on my Chromebook! Hopefully I won't miss much of the PPV before I get home, even though I highly doubt there'll be much to miss.

I kind of hope that it's some guy dressed as CM Punk, like back in the Attitude days. I'm sure though someone would get angry at using little people that way. XD

I'm not sure if I'll be watching, maybe just for Jericho/Punk ...

Wizarding Payback.

Pre-Show aka The Miz Position

Sheamus vs. Damian Sandow

Sheamus wins, nobody cares.

World Championship

Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Alberto del Rio

Ziggler wins, but for some reason they leave the door open for this one to continue. Because they have NO IDEAS for Zigs or Rio.

Divas Championship

Kaitlyn (c) vs. AJ Lee

Hey did you notice AJ is the only heel on here who acts like a heel? And theirs is the only storyline with any meaningful back-story? Serious, these ladies were besties way back on NXT. So watch this end in less than 5 min. with some okay grappling. AJ takes the strap.

US Championship

Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Kane

Hey, did you also notice that the Shield's matches actually have some kind of reason for being on this card? Like holy shiat, they're in a feud with Hell No and Orton and that should involve some matches or something. Crazy! Anyway, Dean retains the strap. Kane is above titles at this point.

Tag Team Championship

The Shield (c) vs. Orton/BEARDZILLA

Rumor is WWE wants BEARDZILLA DAZZLER INTERNET SUPERHERO #1 to face YOU WILL CHEER THIS MAN FOR THE TROOPS at Summerslam. So expect the thrown-together team to lose. I won't call any turns, because WWE is pretty boring and could just as easily keep Orton and Bryan both face as make either heels. Rollins and Bryan carry this one.

Intercontinental Championship

Wade Barrett (c) vs. The Miz vs. Curt Axel

This match should end with Axel getting the belt, because hey, wouldn't it be a good idea for your new guy to get a real win? But no, they'll have Miz do it with that pilates move he calls a figure four.

For the Bestest of the Best in the World

Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk

It's Chicago, so the crowd will be red hot for both guys plus CM Punk's return. It's Chicago, so "Job in your hometown" rules may apply. I say Jericho wins, because WWE knows he's the only guy who can beat Punk in Chicago and not cause a riot.

Seriously people would watch these two wrestle in a Best of Seven Series with a coupon for Applebee's at stake.

WWE Championship/ 3 Stages of Hurry the fark Up & End this Already

John Cena (c) vs. Ryback

When even Richmond, VA greeted John Cena with a giant, "meh," it's safe to say the wheels are finally coming off on the HLR train. But they still won't make Ryback the champ, so expect this to have another Lazarus comeback and a RISE ABOVE LOGIC ending.

Overall impression: plus to WWE for giving each match an actual reason to be on the card. All the belts are on the line, and there's back-story to each match going back to at least Extreme Rules, if not earlier. It seems the summer is a good time to watch because maybe Vince isn't as tuned in or interested. It's not Wrestlemania season, after all. So expect some good-to-decent matches plus one really good one tonight. And don't even demand a lick of logic for anything that happens in the Cena match.

Good evening all.

I think I will be partaking in tonight's festivities in this thread.

When stacked up against the cathardic NBA Finals...I will wrasslin'.

Had this been broadcast against the NHL finals...I'd have told Vince to go skull fark Linda.  Trust story.

Yeah, these NHL playoffs have made me a fan of the puck again.

Ok, because Jericho tweeted a pic together with him on Friday...

I'm going to hopefully wizard by saying Christian will return tonight.

I agree 100% with your pics. I do think Ryberg wins the first fall. Then, he is destroying Cena is the 2nd and Cena wins out of nowhere. Then Cena wins 3rd as well.

Only two matches where there is really any doubt is AJ vs Kaitlyn and the IC match.

With the way these finals have been going, the game would still be going at the end of the PPV.  So you'd catch all the overtimes.

Jericho and CM Punk double turn tonight, Jericho joins Heyman. Maybe Lesnar comes out to destroy Punk or maybe that happens tomorrow night.

Shield beats Orton/Bryan due to miscommunication, Orton further teases heel turn.

Rest of show I don't really give a crap about, but Ambrose, Ziggler, Kaitlyn, Sheamus, Axel, and Cena all win

2013-06-16 07:37:56 PM
Oh and tonight is your chance to win the Trivia Money in the Bank.

There are 8 matches on the card, so one question for each match, the person with the most points wins. If needed, I'll ask a tiebreaker.

So I'm working on writing up a live blog of this event. A few seconds after I finished writing my tagline for the PPV asking if anyone over ten cared about the main event, I see this thread with it's headline. Are we guilty of groupthink (except cman and that one guy who drops in and out while trolling)?

I have no idea why the WWE wants Punk to be heel.

He is a much better face as the lovable loser. People naturally want to cheer for him.

Yeah, I see Kaitlyn winning tonight, then AJ gets a rematch tomorrow night on Raw, and she wins the strap.

Pretty much.  The only one I see going either way is the Divas match, if that doesn't get bumped for more McMahon family feud or other "entertainment" stuff.

Predictions

Preshow - No one cares, but I'll take McCena
Big Gold - Ziggler. This feud will have Orton-Christian longevity, unfortunately
Divas - AJ. ShiningWizard's head asplodes
US - Ambrose. Paging Bray Wyatt for post-match attack
IATTTC - S.H.I.E.L.D., Kane/DBD break up, yet neither go heel
IC Title - Barrett, because booking makes no sense
Jericho/Punk - Jericho after Punk passes out from the Liontamer. Double turn.
WWE Title - Cena wins 2-0

2013-06-16 07:43:51 PM
This is actually a decent match.... scary

2013-06-16 07:45:05 PM
The backbreaker move is cool, but doing it twice is dumb. You should only have to do it once to sell how effective it is.

tbaughm: Jericho/Punk - Jericho after Punk passes out from the Liontamer. Double turn.

Double turns are extremely rare. No one can accurately predict them.

Well, maybe that one match in 1997 where it was blatantly obvious, but I seriously doubt they will try a double turn.

/Double turns are damn hard to pull off

In other sports news, I went to go see Canada and Ireland play a test rugby match last night.  It's been a few years since I've been to a rugby game.  Forgot just how much I love the sport.  Canada lost 40-14, but the game was a lot closer than the score suggests.
