Other than REM and The Talking Heads, that list is full of meh.

It's an REM reunion only if Bill Berry is included.

I want to see a Yes reunion.  Every member ever.  Onstage together.

basemetal: /Axl doesn't deserve the rest of GnR

Axl simply blows live. He's a horrible singer.  I've seen GNR 4 times, and each time i was let down.
I have to hand it to his recording studio...they have everybody fooled.

Never try to pick up wimmen at a  Sleater-Kinney show. You might wake up the next day in a fog of roofies with your genitals in a ziplock next to the alarm clock.

That was terrible. You can see Bob Mould play current hits a couple times a year. Why would you want to see a middle-aged guy sing songs he wrote as a 20 year old jacked on speed?

Yeah, but they have better taste in music than you do.

Guns n Roses, Talking Heads and R.E.M? Yes it would be awesome to see those bands reunite. Not so much for NSync or Oasis.

Just curious why you saw them live four times if Axl didn't impress you?

I saw them once, and he is okay as a singer. He sounds in concert the way he sounds on the albums. Low singing followed by screechy cat yowling.

I always wanted to see The Cars in concert only because people would say (complain?) that they performed the songs exactly the way they sounded on the records. No variation whatsoever.

I agree, but without REM.

Gunderson: Crosby Stills Nash & Young

They did a tour sometime around 2000.  A lot of people were complaining about ticket prices (I think they were around $90).  David Crosby said if people thought it was too expensive they could stay home.  I love David Crosby, but that was kind of a dickish thing to say.  He should have remembered that I was one of only a few hundred people who bothered to show up for one of his solo shows just a few years earlier.

The cars sucked, it was an emotionless concert, minimal movement, minimal crowd interaction, and plagued with a lot of technical difficulties and cut outs.

/The Motels were good though, thank god they opened

Fugazi was around for 15 years or so.  I don't know that I'd call that "brief."

/oh yeah.  N'Sync.  Like white on rice, man.

There would be many deaths resulting from these reunions, as old habits and hates reappear. Best not to do this.

Outkast would probably be the only worthwhile one. I guess it would be nice to see Husker Du and REM reunite, though I can't imagine much of anything noteworthy would come of it.

face it, GNR's time has long since passed.

I'd go almost anywhere to see that.

Only if they ever learned to play live.

Ehh.

I've somewhat accepted that if most bands break up, then they have said everything they wanted to say as a group.

Individuals may have things to say, but, the groups voice is over.

Popcorn Johnny: Any list that doesn't include Pink Floyd is farking ridiculous.

Maybe if they had a time machine and brought a young Syd Barrett to play with them. At least that would be kind of interesting.

Why does a band "need to" reunite? A band is a sort of concept project and sometimes those involved feel they've already done all they want to do with that concept. If they got back together as a nostalgia act or just to cash in, they might end their legacy with a sad-looking tour or an embarrassing reunion album.

I'd like to see Celine Dion reunite

HitFix plucked out 10 artists that we think could (and maybe should) get back together including Husker Du, Guns N' Roses, The Smiths, Outkast, 'N Sync, Sleater-Kinney and more.

And that right there is a sign that these people have absolutely NO idea what they're talking about. They could barely get GNR together for the RRHOF, what makes them think that a reunion would be possible? There is no reason the GNR should get back together, they have nothing to offer because Axl Rose has not only refused to mature, he's gotten worse. You're going to get more entertainment watching all of the assorted side projects and ignoring Rose altogether than you would if they EVER tried to reconcile. To begin with, half of the shows would get cancelled, and Axl would start riots, get in fights with the fans, and walk off stage in 90% of the shows remaining.

GNR has managed to make themselves completely irrelevant now, and almost all of that blame lies Rose's shoulders.

eh, though the main songwriters are still around, I think the ship definitely sailed with Rick's death. Even then, I really don't get the appeal of bands reuniting solely for touring purposes. If they're not going to write new material (and you know they won't; even with a 3-piece Pink Floyd), why bother?

Peter Banks being dead might also put a halt to this idea.

IMHO the Best Yes is Anderson, Squire, Wakeman, Howe, and Bruford. Get those five guys on stage, and I'll buy a ticket.
