Speaking of vampires -- remembered I've been sitting on "Kindred: The Embraced" tv show on dvd (picked it up for $5 or so). Still haven't watched it yet.

/and ditto on headline

EvilEgg: Never having watched True Blood, how does it compare to Game of Thrones, boobies wise?

I think it actually does a better job of tying the nudity to the plot, and it's easily twice as well shot and directed as the nudity/sex-scenes in GoT. True Blood is schlock, but the cast does a decent job selling it, too.

Nah. I also watch it because it is written with a good eye for the absurd, the actors apply exactly the right amount of cheese for their parts, and because it doesn't get caught up in the details, like explaining why Luna's kid has grown ~ 2 feet in a single night (child actors are fun). True Blood is a very well made "so bad it's good" series, and as long as you don't try to pretend otherwise or ignore the show's gender, race, and region issues, it can be a fun watch.

Also, Deborah Ann Woll is both good at her job and extremely attractive, and this is pretty much the only bit of media out there that she's in.

zobear: I watch it more for the, "Nuh uh, they did not just do that!" moments than for any substantial story or character development.

And Pam. She's so awesome; steals every scene she's in.

/will miss Russell

That part was so well cast, written, and acted. That's actually another reason I like the show; when a guest, background, or one-season-only actor does a great job, the show runners have no problem with re-writing the material to bring them back or make their character more central to the story.

I finally watched an episode to see all this nudity I keep hearing about.

There wasn't any on the one I saw.  I felt totally robbed.

The show is campy as hell. I really enjoy it. Just when you think it can't possibly get any more over the top they do something even crazier. They have some great guest actors and a lot of very attractive people who spend a lot of time naked    LOL     Besides, True Blood and The Newsroom help get me through the Sunday night void between GoT and Walking Dead.

I am in way wanting them to stop, but why do we have this frontal nudity if there is going to be a full set of pubic hair? I know there is a very likely chance it is a merkin and if that is the case why show the lower front at all? I can understand shows set in times when it was normal for women to a good deal of pubic hair, but for modern shows it is just wrong and unattractive.

Dion Fortune: And The actor who plays Tara's flamboyantly gay cousin is great, he really steals the show sometimes.

It's TV... is there any other sort of gay?

Because lots of women still don't do the whole shave it all off thing? There are actually some health risks with doing that, you know; nothing you can't work around, but a bald public zone can be a hassle.

Unfortunately true. He did have a pretty reserved and not closeted boyfriend for a season or two though.
