Fade up on a black and white picture of Chon the Donkey, his eyelids and mouth half open, slightly blurry.

"Chon the Donkey wants to be mayor. But, what do we REALLY know about Chon the Donkey?"

Black and white graphic of Donkey from the "Shrek" movies.

"Like most donkeys, Chon refuses to take things seriously."

Sinister image of a shadowy figure of a donkey behind a desk.

"And when it comes to negotiations, Chon will not compromise, no matter how badly the working families of Ciudad Juarez are hurt."

Slightly blurry black and white picture of Chon at a podium, his mouth hanging open and his tongue lolling out.

"Don't be an ass. Vote Lily the Cockatoo for Mayor. Paid for by Citizens for Lily the Cockatoo for Mayor Committee."

Color footage of Lily the Cockatoo.

"I'm Lily the Cockatoo, and I approve this message! CAW! CAW!"

Fade out.

"Everything else is part of expressions happening in social media and I respect that, but you have to vote for the registered candidates, please."

You're right, it's quite a change in required skills.
Why, in one, people give you exorbitant amounts of money in hopes that you'll please them by letting them have whatever they want from you, or in some cases, f*cking somebody else for their entertainment, and in the other...

Morris is past 100,000 likes and has more likes than the candidate from the ruling PRI party:

Wow, who would have thought Mexican voters would be so finicky?

"It's great that this campaign is showing the fiction in our elections. Every three years politicians laugh at us, it's good to laugh at them a bit, too."

115,000 likes versus 33,000 for the "real" candidate?

Lawls!

//Spanish for "sick burn" apparently.

I find it interesting how much English language and American culture is being used for that.  Morris is obviously not a traditional hispanic name, even for a pet.  It's like name your dog Guillermo.  And that shopped poster for that is all in English.  When was the last time an American politician ran ads targeted at English speakers that were all in some random other language?  In another hundred years, will English be the primary language of Mexico?
